  1. From this past weekend. The "theme" was "Icons of British Motoring". The last hour I was there it rained quite heavily so many cars were draped in plastic preventing good photos. This Allard was my favorite...... Then this Lotus..... Then this Cooper Climax..... Then this A friend owns this stunningly beautiful 200hp Triumph TR250.... Another acquaintance owns this beatiful TR6....... This '37 MG is something special..... '52 Aston Martin DB2...... This is pretty unique I think.... 1924 Bentley Vanden Plas Tourer...... A one of a kind (color wise) Javelin... More to come (mostly American iron) later......
  2. G'day Stuart! Thanks....the bed strips are 1/16" wide chrome pinstriping. I have some 1/32" (1mm) wide chrome pinstriping also but I thought the 1/16" wide looked more to proper scale. It was my first time using a wash on the bed. Thanks again for your tips on using it!
  3. Thank you everyone! When pulling off the masking tape on the boat gunnels it pulled some of the green paint with it leaving a ragged edge. Gonna try to touch that up to make a cleaner edge.
  4. Nice job AMT68! Reminds me of my FILs car from back in the day.
  5. Very nice- looks great in that color too!
  6. Nice build! Perfect color for this imho!
  7. I have the 1:48 scale version of this Airfix kit in my stash. I just opened up the box and looked at the parts. It's my 1st Airfix kit. The tiny molded in details are almost unbelievable! Nice job XYHARRY!
  8. Very cool and great photography. I really like the detailing on the rear doors!
  9. Wow that is beautiful! The colors you picked are perfect for this!
  10. A good friend that used to build gave my this kit some time ago. I just finished it today. The decals were badly yellowed so I didn't use them. I'll need to find some others. Built box stock except: 1. I added some styrene tubing over the metal trailer axle to make it a larger diameter, 2. added lights and licence plate to trailer, 3. added some weight to the front of the boat to prevent it from tipping the trailer back and off the hitch, 4. added plug wires to the engine, 5. added a gauge cluster decal from the parts bin, 6. added 1/16" wide chrome strip to the truck bed and 7. added a rear panel to the boat interior (which prevented me from orienting the "stuffing box tiller" correctly). Painted Tamiya Coral Green and Pure White. Thanks to Stu111 for tips on detailing the truck bed!
  11. I raided a set of Torq Thrusts from an AMT '61 Impala SS kit to use on a '66 Chevelle that I built for a friend a few years ago. He had a 1:1 Chevelle with Torq Thrust in this blue color back in the day.
  12. Very nice Charger! It's the perfect color for this McLaren IMHO. I built this Tamiya kit 4 years ago. I bought it from Hobbylinc when they had it in stock. I used Tamiya TS-56 brilliant orange. I closed up all the small openings on the bottom where the details for the battery operated motor originally was. Are you going to leave the driver out?
  13. Like others have said, great job on he weathering! And all the little details in the bed bring it to the next level.
