Thanks! Wow, that's cool. I've heard it's quite difficult to own a classic American car in France. I know someone there with two 70's GM cars and remember him mentioning something about that.

Thank you. The grill was one of those things that I really remember about the original 1:1 car, so I made the extra effort to figure something out.

Looks great! Love the color and the Cragars look excellent.

Excellent build! Love the aggressive styling.

Thanks! Your old Cutlass sounds awesome! There was another '70 in my neighborhood when I was a kid. It was typical 70s street machine with big back tires and aluminum slots. I dreamt of doing that to my dad's car when I was old enough lol. Now I just miss it the way it was.

Looks excellent Steve!

I finished this some time ago and it's one of my favorite builds. It's the Jo-Han '70 442 kit with some PE parts, Cutlass wheel covers from Fireball Modelworks and tires from Modelhaus. I used PE hood grills meant for a C2 Corvette that looked close to the Cutlass front grill pieces. I didn't do much to transform the interior so it's pretty much the 442 stuff, but I did find a similar looking steering wheel from a '69 442 kit. I think the side mirror came from that kit too. This model was built as a kind of tribute to my father's car that I learned to drive on. It was light metallic blue when new, but in the later 70s he had it repainted to a nice darker blue, which is how I remember it and the color I was going for on this model.

Thank you! Yeah that Tamiya pearl light red is always a winner, especially on classics.

Thank you! Yeah, subtle.... that's pretty much what I was going for. No worries about emails... you must know by now how long it takes me to reply lol!

Love it. Beautiful job and killer style!

Here's a curbside '59 Imperial I finished last year. Custom touches include '57 Chrysler 300 roof and interior, '59 Chrysler New Yorker front bumper, mildly re-done side trim, and '62 Dodge wheel covers over Pegasus wheels and tires. Paint was Tamiya rattle can.

Some pics of my recently finished AMT Corvair. Also, my first model contribution to the forum after my initial intro. This was built for the "LOWVAIRS" display at the SoCal Open a couple months ago. It started as the typical hardtop model and my original plan was to do an up-top convertible. I started to realize that finding and modifying a top to fit was not gonna happen in time, so top-down it was. It's a curbside build with minimal mods besides the obvious lowering. Made a tiny shifter for the dash to represent an automatic for easy cruising. π Wheels are from Lowrider Model Car Parts. Starwires on the passenger side and Supremes on the driver side.

Thanks for checking out my website and glad you liked it! I'm up in the Antelope Valley so I'm used to traveling long distances to do anything cool haha. I am in a club but it's not local - I correspond online for the most part. -
Hi, Iβm Mark from Southern California. Been an βoff and onβ builder since I was a kid (in the 70s) but really got in to it over the last few years. Iβve been corresponding with someone who is a member here and he told me I should check it out. When I got here, I realized that half of my Google searches end up here anyway lol. Here are some of my builds that I took to the recent SoCal Open show in Chatsworth, CA.
