  1. The shop I worked at had two customers that brought those in for annual inspection /service . The cab subframes were somewhat sketchy(if I didn't have to tilt the cab to work on something , that was a good day). Every other brand was just as bad when they were getting rotted out, so I'm not just pickin on the heavy chevy's. Couldn't trust the hydraulics , always used a chain come along to let the cab over center. Those were the days , when I wasn't an old fat cripple.
  2. Sweet. IRL it'l ride rough with suspenion , it'll be cool on the book shelf though (I have two 1/25 weapons with that suspension ). Remember the KW torsion bar suspension , they weren't very nice riding also
  3. Those chains are gonna look sweet . I don't miss slinging those things at all, the last outfit I was on with....I did get paid to use them though.
  4. Your not building a Kelowna truck , so the care and control won't be as good. The Burnaby Freieghtliners were built better too. I trucked in the gunwash and hauled their waste paint and thinners until it closed. Freightliner(Daimler) sure has ruined the brand. I still run a heritage truck and it's getting to to a real bugger to get parts for the ole mare. Who woulda thunk a camion would still be going 30 years later?
  5. Sweet. Are you going to load coils or beams on that rig ?
  6. Sweet project. I built an Autocar and dump trains years....michigan special too. Some day I'll haveta get some pics of some these gems put up here.
  7. Nice detail. Shouldn't the front springs have equalizer beams between them though ?
  8. Getting signed up is a bit of a bugger. Screen name was , third time's the charm .....the first two were way more eloquent than this one.
