39 Chevy Wagon Rod.........................
novadose71 replied to Space Cowboy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I built one of these a few years ago, it's a great kit. Front suspension is a little fiddly but I don't remember any snags during the build. I did replace the wheels with the Phantom Vicky kit wheels which uses the same tires but fit the look of the build a little better. I have some pics somewhere, I 'll post them if I run across them. -
Thanks for the kudos guys, I'm not getting emails when some one posts on here, so I'll answer the questions here What do we do with them? Well we sold one and delivered it to AZ. One got modified and backdated and I am trying to get the Rod Shop from a couple years ago set-up in my basement. But for the most part they usually end up against the wall in someones basement or garage......the Daytona dio is lying on a garage floor between a 65 El Camino and 60 Ford P/U for example. One of these days I want to put them all on here but I am pretty slow getting my post's together. Yes the pavement evolves with the wall As for listing all of our names, the other members wish to remain anonymous on forums due to a couple scares in the past....getting tracked down from their name (like could happen on here:) and having family threatened etc etc....nothing ever came of it but you never know with all you crazies out there....I mean, all the OTHER crazies LOL

1980's Toyota Celica-Supra WIP *engine bay/firewall detailed!*
novadose71 replied to brodie_83's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Besides the problems your having it's looking really good. The interior is great. Keep plugging away, you'll get it done. BTW Iooks like the engine from Jimmy is a 4 cylinder versus the 6 from the Supra.....2 extra cylinders makes for a longer engine -

Excuse me for reposting a pic but that is one great looking Monaro. Is this still offered by Cavalier or is getting lucky on ebay my only option? -
Non-Tip Tenax Holder (Cheap)
novadose71 replied to von Zipper's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Knocking over my Tenax was the reason I started using lids for this too, I've since switched to Tamiya. But the lids also work for Model Master jar paints, these in my pic are used for thinner and I usually have a paper towel stuffed down around the jar to wipe my brush on. -
Man, nice job with that. I can't tell you how many times I have passed up this kit, even at clearance price for some reason. Yours gives me enough idea's for it that won't put it back on the shelf the next time I see one.

I re-built a gluebomb of one of these a few years ago, I love the detail you are adding -
So let me get this straight
novadose71 replied to oldscool's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
At least he was teaching you proper usage -
I got the grille and headlights detail painted this morning And the interior is pretty much done....just a couple of small details to take care of. On to the taillights, wheels and finish up the body
-
Here ya go man? You can see why I had it in my head to use the BBS wheels(BTW they are not included in the kit). The body is pretty nice but the panel lines are shallow, I really wish I would have deepened them. The interior is fairly basic: Seats and console molded in the tub, no door panel detail, but the dash is nicely detailed with the gauges and such. Chassis is set up for and electric motor, not much detail to speak of there. The factory magnesium wheels have some excellent engraving on them. It will make a great shelf model. Thanks for all your wheel opinions. I'm still not 100% decided on what I am going to use and am still digging through my stash for more candidates.

My mom grew up in Moline, Dad across the river in IA by Eldridge....in the sticks.....and and they raised me just outside of D-port. Always good to hear from the hometown.
