  1. That's crazy good for that scale. It must be like building a watch. There are so many great kits in that scale, I just can't see well enough anymore to build them. Well done! John
  2. Looks great so far. I've heard a lot of horror stories about this kit, but you seem to be getting the best of it. How did you handle getting the decals over the fender louvers? They look great. John
  3. I think the real car is ugly, but you did an unbelievable job of modeling it. Really a wonderful piece of work. To call it impressive is an understatement. John
  4. That looks fantastic! Great job on a way cool car. Did you have any problems with it? Decals, etc. John
  5. That's by far the best example of that kit I have ever seen. Beautiful!! How did you make the screens on the injector tubes? The car is absolutely gorgeous. John
  6. Another beautiful job Steve. This is one of my favorite cars of all time. John
  7. I know what you're talking about. A good example is the blower rotors in the Garlits Swamp Rat kit. I have detail painted parts that will never be seen. I guess it helps me to know how the real car looked even though I've never seen it in person. I guess it's also a skill building exercise. I'd rather kits have to much detail than not enough. John
  8. I was all about Indy cars and drag racing until I saw the movie LeMans with Steve McQueen. That movie and this car put sports cars on the map for me. Excellent build!! John
  9. I love the older sprint cars and yours is really cool. Where did you get the rear tires?
  10. Bill I agree completely with your opinion of the Can Am cars. I'm working on the 917 30 right now and have the 1/20 McLarens waiting to be re-built. The Shadow was ugly but way cool. I loved to go Mid Ohio every year for the Can Am. Great series.
  11. Thanks. I'm watching a Can Am Shadow kit on E Bay right now. There aren't to many Can Am subjects out there and the Shadow would be a pretty obscure subject to build. Depending on how the bidding goes I may take a flyer on it. John
  12. Has anyone had any experience with Otaki kits? I see them on E Bay occaisionally but I know nothing about the quality, fit, finish etc of these kits. Can anyone shed some light on these kits for me? Thanks John
  13. For safety's sake I'm glad the drivers are now ahead of the motors, but I love slingshot dragsters. This one is beautiful.
  14. I'll just have to echo what's already been said about this build because any words I could come up on my own with would be insufficient to express how I feel. Truly incredible!!
  15. You were right the first time, my head exploded!!!
  16. I'm not into bikes, but this is the most ambitious and the coolest project I've ever seen!! I'm in awe. BTW, please take this as a compliment, but you're a freak. Simply unbelievable, thanks for sharing.
  17. Elan Bill J offers many unique offerings, but just an FYI, it takes months to get delivery from him.
  18. I want to build Parnelli's 70 Trans Am Mustang. Thanks for the responses, they're just what I needed!!
  19. I seem to recall someone making a kit for the older style roll bars. Anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks[
  20. I've been toying with the idea of getting that kit. Any insights or tips on the build up? Yours looks great!
  21. Thanks to all that responded. I think I'll give it a go.
  22. Has anyone used liquid masking material? It seems like a good idea, but I don't know much about it. Thanks
  23. I've found that as builders we can sometimes be to critical of our own work. Most people that see our work would never notice the things we see as major flaws. Your Vette looks good to me, especially in light of the challenges you've overcome!
  24. The paint and what you did with the metallic surfaces are unbelievable. How did you do the exhaust headers? The car is absolutely beautiful
