  1. Haven't they told you about posting pictures of real cars here in the MODEL section?
  2. How about a '64-ish Austin Healey Sprite Racer?
  3. Is that the Heller 1/43rd BMW? If so, where did the wheels come from? I have some 43rd that I like because of the small size. The last time the 1/43rd american stuff was produced (I don't remember who made them, AMT or Revell) I picked up all they had (Corvette, Torino, Mustang, Camaro and Javelin). I also have a couple of Monogram Cobras and a Vette (the ones with the PE parts) and the old 56 Ford F100 and motorcycle (1/48th, I think). Along with some of the Heller kits (BMW, Mini Cooper, Lancia, etc...) One tip of warning. I used to use a lightbulb to bake the paint sometimes. Until I did it to a Heller kit. Now it looks as if it was t-boned. The side caved in and shrank due to the heat.
  4. As was my brothers '66 goat...
  5. I only know what I have seen on the tube and the different games I have played. While all racing takes lots of talent, the talent just has to be in different areas. There is more strategy in Nascar and circut racing and more driving needed in WRC. Consequences are huge no matter what form of racing your in. Technology is cutting edge in all racing. From a gaming point, nascar is pretty boring, road racing (F1 or otherwise) is lots of fun but Rally just takes the cake. In Nascar, you run around the track trying not to loose your grove and worry that you have enough tires and fuel to make it. One tap at 200 and your spinning... In road racing, your trying to jockey your way to the front of the line without damaging your car by driving or hitting something and again, worry if you have enough tires and fuel to make it. In WRC, your screaming sideways through the trees around blind corners on little dirt roads barely wide enough for your car, watching for rocks and other debris, not to mention all those people on the side of the road trying to get a great photo, while your listening to your car, your navigator telling you about the next section and any error results in consequence. I would have to recomend Dirt on the PS3. Awesome game! It will really test your driving ability and unlike some of the other "pinball" type racing games, you run off the road and hit something, your car breaks... It's really fun to just hand the controler to someone who says they can drive and let them go, then watch the replay and all the parts flying off the car as they bounce from ditch to tree. And if they make it to the finish line, they're barley limping across with a car that looks like salvage. Grid is also great for all us road race fans that don't like the pinball racing.
  6. Arrow! There's the Cigar. This one was an SCCA rally entry.
  7. Very close, but no cigar, yet...
  8. How about.... Might be easy, might not...
  9. Late model Corvette mill Kieth black blown hemi TPI Small block with nitrous Carbed and nitroused big block All of these have found their way into my tri-fives How about a turbo V6 from a Regal GNX? Fairly original but still lots of power...
  10. Definitely a beauty and by the sound of it, well researched. I stand corrected and formally retract my unknowledgable observation. BTW, my last project was an old Mack flatbed (Tom Daniels Beer Wagon/RC Cola Wagon) that was made into a hot rod truckster. See "Bully" in the Under Glass section. Definitely not anything close to stock... Keep up the great work and keep us drooling modelers updated.
  11. Great build so far! Going to look awesome when its finished. Now, not wanting to throw wrenches, but are the rear springs thick enough to support the weight of the tank? They look a little on the light side. Mind you, that is what I am going on, the look. I have not seen the real thing so I wouldn't know the reality of it all. It doesn't take away from the model, I just notice things like that. I have to stay quiet at the movies with the family when I notice stuff "hey, when a car pops a wheelie, the back goes down first, then the front comes up..." Awesome scratching, by the way! Real inspiration!
  12. Just wanted to share my latest rat. This build was the most fun I have had building in years...
  13. I would have to say my opinion would be... Just be thankful we have a new/better Nova/Mustang/'32/(Insert kit here) than we had before. Basically, as it has been said many times, if you like it, build it, if you don't, fix it or don't build it. It all comes down to choices. I, for one, am happy to have another choice when it comes to a Nova. In addition, for those of us that can't build a model unless it is 99.9% accurate but don't have the skills/time/etc, I am sure there are corrected masters being made or cast as we speak. I build for the enjoyment and challenge. I build what I want, regardless of what others say about the kit. I have built two gasser style AMTs, one with a flip nose thanks to those separate front fenders, one pro street and have another still in shrinkwrap. I can't wait to build the new nova, just because of what I have heard about the fit and finish. Just for giggles, I think it would be interesting to see just how many Nova kits each of it's nay-sayers have (built and unbuilt, new and old).
  14. What kind of a man (loosely applied description) has to enter a model in a kids category to win??? Buck it up and enter your own friggin model in the right category... Win or loose, at least it's yours. But then again, that brings to mind all these really nice 1:1 streetrods out there. Many owners don't build em. I would be interested to see just how many of the cars on the contest circut are actually owner built... Is that the same thing? The last few riddlers were bought cars, built by Foose or some other hot rod shop... What that means, is someone with enough money can just buy a contest winning car. Of course, this is a can of worms for some other time...
  15. Good job!!! I didn't realize the picture was so darn big and detailed when I put it up.
  16. All that flake must have added about a pound to that model...
  17. Anyone for this one? Not only what it is but what is unique about this one.
  18. Correct! Were the Vega Nomads a conversion or factory? I have only seen one and imediately wanted to shove a small block in it... But the owner wouldn't sell it. I had a '74 Wagon at the time with a 350. Fun car... By the way, you, me and this car are all in Texas...
  19. Yes, Yes, Yes, no...
  20. How about this one... Year, make, model and name
  21. The car is a 1957 Austin A35 Peanut. It just dawned on me that the name may be different in different countries. Please advise me if this is the case.
  22. Your definitely on the right track, but not quite right.
  23. I don't know if anyone has already said it but the Pacer thingie is called a Skorpion. It was on Dream Car Garage a while back. I saw this one today
