Being as I have done bout ever thing there is in carz krimes , I might suggest a small perhaps old gas station , a small, non- descript art- deco building , or perhaps a plain brick affair for an office . Generally, a car- port served as the make ready and repair facility . I know from experence how bad working in some of these dirty places were . You'll need a broken down ole wrecker too. Hey man , BLACKTOP !Put up Lottsa flags ! Yep string pennents on some fishing line . have some outdated fixtures to keep rif raff like us out the lot at night . You'll need bigg ole signs with , "The Working Mans friend " , "Low Down " Low Milages , Runs fine , E- Z Payments , CLEAN , V-8 , Full Power !, 1 owner , Great Gas milage ! Ed Shaver

You know what impressed me about 1959 and 1960 Cadillacs ? BALL BEARINGS !!!! Yep, General Motors in a quest to build the finest motor car used Ball bearings in their axle assemblies , front and rear then. Chevrolets and their counterparts used Roller bearings . Hey, I worked on many a Cadillac engine all the way to the NO ACCOUNT 4100's. Ed Shaver

info needed on this model 52 plymouth wagon
Eshaver replied to wvsm's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
As "Guru" Art Anderson explained , Product Miniatures had these both as "Promomtionals" and as "Bagged ".98c kits in retail stores in the day. I have a resin copy I bought off Smart Resins Jody some time back. I had to scratch build the interior and a chassis . The colors are as stock as I could find according to some old P P G Charts I have . Now with one execption, I did a common "Dealer " move . In order to move a slow seller , I added a second color to the body which was commonly done in the fifties . I chose to use a common Black in the lower portion of the body. I hope this answers some questions as to this obsure piece of model history........... Ed Shaver -
Skip, since ya asked , the A M T's would include a couple of 1925 Ford Model t's . You can spend hours an hours doing vintage commercial bodies on one of them . The OVER Priced double dragster in card board . Hey I build models , not collect boxes . In Revell's new offering, I guess a 1962 Impala and a 1972 Oldsmobile convertable . Ed Shaver

Eshaver replied to Ben's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Joshua, you make a very interesting point on "Off the shelf parts ". I left the so called "Cutom Van " accessory business rather than build for the Dealer Van companies . Hey, I wasn't about to invest in a vacum forming machine that made interior walls for Chevrolet and Dodge Hi- Top vans ! Nope , not me , NEVA !!!!!!! Ed Shaver -

I bet most of you have no idea how long such practices gave gone on . Being in the "Business" such as I was for wayyyyy too many years . I would wander about on Saturday night just glancing at the cars in the parking lots , listening to parts of conversations . I was all the timehearing , "How THEY Sweated and worked on some car ". Yeah right , they PAID ME to do the work ! What do ya do........... Me , I sigh, take a swig outta my coffee cup and mosey on. Ed Shaver -
