  1. Nice! I recently did a 65 to look like my 1:1 when we get it painted. That acrylic looks great.
  2. I've always liked decals. My favorite part of a race car build. I did 1:1 race car graphics for several years back around 2000.
  3. Everyone should do this kit. To support the manufacturers AND to see what awesome is. I like this better than Tamiya, Fujimi, etc
  4. Done! Took 9 days to do all the decals, building the chassis at same time. Apply>wait>apply>wait. You know the drill. But I wanted the most challenging decal scheme I could get. I like decals. I ordered a couple more NASCAR kits on sale. I built over 300 old school NASCAR kits and sold them all. This was fun even though I don't keep up with NASCAR much anymore. I wanted this build to sit beside my GT4 build. They will go good together.
  5. Here's a sunny photo to see the color better
  6. I had a Falcon mod stocker, so that's probably where these came from. I used the body for a slot car. Thanks for the compliments, everyone
  7. I wish the photos showed the paint color better. The dark color is plum metal flake. I'll try to get a better photo. And I surprised myself with the stance and feel of this one. I thought I lost a wheel. Glad I found it and was able to keep the wire wheels.
  8. Finished today. Need to put some Pledge or Future whatever on it. Then to under glass
  9. When did Ford stop using washer bags on the fenders? My 65 Thunderbird has that and a coolant reservoir btw the manifold and top radiator hose. No catch can though.
  10. I didn't realize there was no overflow in 71. So that is wrong. BUT, to make it look green, I used a green highlighter on the white plastic.
  11. The bomber seats are in the kit with skeleton door frames as well. Look up Tim Boyd's articles on this one. I need more of this kit for those seats. I can build the kit with the other finished interior. I have a stack of leftover frames from this and the 29 kit.
  12. I'm on day 9 of decals on this build. I put on a few a day and let them set up. This may be the most extensive set of decals I've ever done. Loving it. It is rekindling my interest in NASCAR builds. Still don't care about the sport that much, but love the cars. This will sit beside my Mustang GT4 build.
  13. Here's a few more of my hot rod builds. The 31 sedan is built on the 29 roadster kit. The flamed 34 and stock 32 are a diecasts. The blue flame 32 is a Testors diecast kit
  14. The only nits I found were some of the decals didn't have white backing. Battery, a couple other things underhood. So they would not show up when applied. Other than that, this may be the best kit I've ever built.
  15. I think there were only 2 interior options for 2021, the black and the Navy Pier, which is what I tried to replicate. I'm not a fan of black interiors. With that said, it is a model and you can do whatever makes you happy. That's what makes them fun.
  16. There is a pastel blue one with white grille and wheels locally that sorta gave me the idea. It's very retro and was on the dealer lot so I assume it was a factory choice. That might be the robin egg blue?
  17. I finally got one of these recently. I love these revell hot rod kits. This, the roaster, and the 32s. I could probably just build those for the rest of my days and be fine. This is mine. Box stock except wheels and tires. The wheels have been in my stash forever. Not sure where they came from. The tires are PPP? Might be part of 2 sets? I'm still thinking about putting some Nerf bars on the sides and front like an old modified. I have some from the recent modified kits. Now I need one of these to build as a shiny car...
  18. I started this before my youngest was born and he just turned 16. It has been painted for years and I have no idea where the original paint went so I had to be careful assembling AND finding all the parts and wheels. I found it all scattered in 3 different boxes. 3 kids used to build this one. The AMT 32 Phaeton for the phaeton body, windshield and frame, and top. The fenders and engine were from any of the Revell 32 Fords. I have a bunch of those. The frame was from the AMT phantom Vickie. I had to scratch the interior side panels and a filler behind the rear seat. Seats were from the Phantom Vickie as well. I need to work on fit of the hood a bit. It fit right till I put the radiator in. Paint is from a 1999 Yamaha Venture Royal Star. I had painted 2 helmets to match a bike for a friend. Paint was from Color Rite. That is some stinky stuff. I love the stance of this car. Glad I finally dug it out and finished it.
  19. Here's my build. I'm sure there will be a ton of these soon. I used Duplicolor wheel paint to get close to the pewter. Close enough for me and I didn't have to shell out more money for paint. I had this on hand. I went with blue interior to be different.
  20. My blue interior. Not perfect but works for me. I screwed up the back part. I'll get the other completion pics soon. ya gotta love that shifter decal.
  21. Thanks for the compliments. Clicking the Thanks thing doesn't work for me now.
  22. I've seen a sky blue one with white trim at the Ford lot locally. Not sure on the grabber blue though.
  23. Interestingly, I started an AMT 34 coupe probably about same time and put it in a box. I get it out occasionally. I also used an Arii wheel/tire set but different wheels. Same approach to the build. Except yours is complete and excellent! Mine is still in the box.
  24. Maybe the one I saw was a Mach 1
