might be a hair big for cars but im sure this would be workable plus the box is killer http://sourkrautsmodeltrucks.com/?page_id=3&category=10 i never ran chains on my car but i used to use the lawnmower to plow the driveway and i ran chains on that beast one spring i had removed the plow blade but still left the chains on we were grilling outside and after a few beers someone suggested taking the lawnmower mudrunning in the city park down the street we were tearing it up with those chains for 5 minutes before the cops showed up

i would try to scratchbuild your own rims for it you just cut out the center of the stock rims (leaving only the outer ring) and then find a set of alloys you like for the front and cut the center out of those then all thats left to do is gleu the center of the racing rim into the outer truck ring and then tire should fit no problem -
i believe the term you are looking for is "i'd rather be right then politically correct" thank you and right back at you

michigan zip code 49424 thanks alot man i bought that bike hoping i could get it registered as a moped but since its a 6 speed they made me register it as a motorcycle so i had to get my motorcycle license for it and get insurance and a license plate and tags for it (in the US moped tags are 15 dollars for 3 years and exempt from insurance) long story short the bike would have been a great moped but is a wee bit slow as a motorcycle which is why i want the bigbore kit -
looking good i likes the stance with the scoops on the side winders i would suggest slapping some rear louvers on that baby as well as a ducktail or better yet...get a whale tail

cool ill ad you to the list then how close your build is to someone else depends on how custom you will build it right ? so there is your inspiration to make it special, now get to working (it really doesnt mather that the base model is close to one that is already entered. as long as you make it your own you'll be fine) ill ad you to the list

i like the dodge a lot better then the camaro but in the interest of keeping this a build i would suggest the camaro since the dodge is almost done already so shall i ad the camaro to the list ?

i remember skipping al sorts of trig and geo classes under the banner "ill never use this nonsense in real life" then i got out of college and got a job as a metalworker CNCing sheetmetal trim for buildings all of a sudden my days were filled with trying to figured out the lenght of a piece of trim and the circumference of an angle and wether it i an inside angle or an outside angle and how many of them i can get out of one sheet of metal and where i can trim it just a MM or two so i could get one extra piece out of a sheet great fun

started the trailer today http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...&s=&f=6 -
i think i have one of those kits you can build it as a GT (manual) or GTA (automatic) it has the correct trannies for both aswell as the pedal assemblies, tunnel, shifter AND (this one was a surprise for me) badges and trim decals

mey marc, welcome to the forum it will be a fe more days untilli can get working on the DAF since i wont get it untill Christmass i can understand how these trucks might look strange but the idea behind it is quite simple im most european countries there is a legal limit to how long a truck combination is allowed to be so every inch of hood that sticks out in front of the truck is an inch of the combination that can not be used to carry a payload so by placing the cab on top of the engine there is less of the total length used for the tractor and more can be used for the trailer to actualy place loads on i did manage to get the ladderframe for the trailer put together but now i am faced with a choice on paint and that will determine how much more i will put together before painting it -

i have been able to find only a few decent pictures of transporter trailers from the Netherlands and most of them were different then this one it seemed without execption the tractors pulling them were daycabs and the trailer was build (at least partially) on the tractors frame, allowing one more car to sit on top of the cab. much like this outfit right here so i will be taking some artistic freedoms in this build partially because there are so few people on here who have ever seen a daf that i can get away with it -

And here are some shots of the transporter on the sprues I added a 1/25 plymouth GTX to the picture to show the size of this kit And here is a shot of the broken part I think I can fix it but worst case scenario I can scratchbuild a new ladder My first thought on this kit was to replicate a rig from a existing Dutch company but I was unable to find one online that used the right combination of tractor trailer and had a paintsceme I like so this will be a imaginary Dutch company with a paint sceme that I stole from an existing wood fiber company i figured once this tractor (1) is done and the trailer (2) is done i can slap my GTX (3) my sardine challenger (4) my T/A challenger (5) my hemi cuda (6) my hemi cuda/superbird (7) and maybe another charger (8) on there and put it in the livingroom as one model hereby succesfully bupassing the wifies "one model at a time on display" rule Feel free to comment on and make suggestions to the build -
hey guys ive been on the forum for a while now but this will be my first big rig project (all my others were cars) as some of you may know im Dutch and i now reside in the US last year for my birthday my parents bought me a revell of germany car transport it has been in my stack untill i had the chance to build this with a DAF tractor (for those of you who never heard of this truck builder DAF is a dutch company and it is one of the largest truck manufacturers in europe, as a mather of fact when i was about half my age i used to run dirtbike in the woods surrounding thier proving grounds) the day that i will be able to build a DAF tractor is now fast aproaching because i bought one for the wifey for her to give to me this Christmass in anticipation i opened up the transporter today and started some work on the frame there are at least two peices that got damaged in the travels (my parents bought this kit in the Netherlands and brought it over last year) but i think i can fix them now for some pics a stock photo of the truck and the transporter

your best bet (IMHO) would be to get a few scraps of automotive window tint (or just buy a whole roll for 15 bucks and be set for life) it is a lot trickier to aply then paint but looks much better

i like the way this is coming together the radio delete is a cool idea, very hardcore you should run intake hoses from where the highbeams used to be to the aircleaner that would be sweet or maybe adapt an existing unit from a 4-4-2 ? they had that as an option as for the cragars, i love those rims , if you have a set you can spare let me know and ill see if i got something to trade for them
