  1. Was thinking white pearlescent for the main color with blue paneling. The doors fit well. I find it easier to cut the plastic pins on the hinges and drill new holes and use a embroidery pin for the hinge. Thanks for the reply guys.
  2. I notice the issue with the headers as well. I'm thinking about trying to modify the two inside pipes and spread them outward, shortening the back one and lengthen the front one. Easier said than done. Here's a pic with the hood and doors.
  3. Here is a picture of the body.
  4. Here is my latest project. Using Revells willys pickup with the new willys coupe chassis. Body has been modified with the front grill from the coupe kit. Engine is from the Tony Nancy dragster kit, Buick nailhead. Let me know what you think. More pictures to come.
  5. The injectors on the Austin were chucked up in my dremel and sanded smooth. I then wraped them with BMF and blacked out the openings. The injectors on the Willys pickup were sanded the same, but were masked and painted at the top instead of the BMF. The white stripe with green stars on the Henry J is painted on. The stripes were first masked and painted white. I then made a small stencil of a star and sprayed green through it onto the white stripes. Thanks for the kind words guys.
  6. Here is a new update. Got the suspension alcladed and glued to the frame last night , so I was able to do a mockup. Starting to come together. Thanks for looking.
  7. Each one was built about a year apart. The Austin was first, followed by the Willys and then the Henry J. After I built these, I realized that the class markings on them are not correct. Oh well, they were still fun to build. Thanks for the comments.
  8. Done up as a Box Art build. Once again I used a custom mix of decaned One Coat laquer. Thanks for looking.
  9. Here are the three gasser models by revell that are based off the same chassis and engine. The Austin, Willys Pickup, and Henry J. All were painted with decaned Testors One Coat laquer. Thanks for looking.
  10. Here are some more pics showing the chassis and suspension, tires and engine. I'm using the kit wheels with the Ramcharger FED rear tires and Polar Lights funny car front tires (that i cast myself). I'm going to use the kit engine as is and add some kind of scoop, since the original 'mailbox' scoop is no longer in the kit. Thanks for looking.
  11. Thanks again guys. Their is definely a lot of mold lines on this kit. Right now I'm spending most of my time sanding those mold lines and striping the chrome. Tomorrow I will have some more pics of the wheels, chassis and suspension.
  12. I actually decaned the paint first, then used my airbrush. I forgot to mention that at the beginning. The paint is very forgiving though. Thanks again.
  13. Still need to find that one. Theres actual a forth one but i forget the name of it.
  14. Thanks for the positive comments guys.
  15. Thanks for all the positive feedback. I still have the Lil' Yeller school bus to do as well.
  16. Just starting working on this one in the last couple of weeks. It's the 33 Willys from round 2. As you can see from the pics. I just finished up the paint job using Testors one coat lacquer. The stars and strips were painted on. More to come.
  17. Just finished this up a few weeks ago. Removed all part seems and mold lines. Testors one coat lacquer. Basic out of the box build. Was a lot of fun. Thanks for looking.
  18. Been looking around the internet trying to find reference pics for this particular car and having no luck. Looking for pics of the red version of this car, just like on the box art of the kit. Would like to know the color of the frame and the main componets. Any color photos under the hood of this thing would be great. Thanks, Jason
