  3. Thanks guys , Yes this is my baby, I still think one of my best to date. I spent about a year off and on working on it and challanged my skills alot. And yes I was lucky enough for it to get spotted by CM at the NNL in Atlanta a year ago. Again thanks for the comments. There are alot of nice trucks here, thanks for letting me join you guys. Jon
  4. Heys guys: Here's one I did a couple of years ago.

  7. Hey Dave! Great build, nice color and great wheel option. I love those little cars. I have a 1:1 setting in the garage and would love to have a model to build up like it. Jon
  8. Guys: Thanks 99GT: the color is Model Master Acalpulco Blue Met right out of the can. Sorry about the pics it has been hard to find a sunny day here we seem to be trying to set some kind of record with all the rain here 59" this year. I met Noah the other day! As for competing the car got second place in the Reg 6 IPMS show a couple weeks ago, and I think a buddy of mine is going to Atlanta for the NNL in a coupe weeks and if so I think I can convince him to take it. Jon
  9. Hey guys Thanks! Peter I wanted to do the Eleanor but everybody else was doing it, and doing a really nice job so I new that if I did it that way it would need to be really nice. So when I saw the Ring Brothers Mustang I decide that it was a different take on a already good body style so that's what I did. The blue was for the wife that is her favorite color, but it does look good an there. Jon
  10. Hey george: I that article is very nice but I really think I'm going to do a pie section starting at 0 at the front doors and doing about 3" at the back. We see what that looks like and go from there. I wanting to add late model Caddy taillight (the tall slender ones) so I will be modifying the back anyway. I post pics when the sec is done. Jon
  11. Thanks Guys!
  12. Hey Guys: Thanks for the input, I was thinking about the pie wedge and I guess that will be next with all the suggestion. I also plan on strighting out the body line and suicide doors. Jon
  13. Guys Here is my latest project, it's the AMT 49 Merc. The roof is off the Chezoom. Let me know what you think. Jon
  14. Hey guys: She's done, let me know what you think. You can see th build pics in the other section. Jon
  15. Hey guys Thanks for the comments. Vizio: no that is the f&f 67 by amt, the body kit was scratch built. Midknight: good eye I had to combine the 68 hood with the 67.
  16. Hey guys! Thought I would post a few of the body w/paint: Hope you like.
  17. Hey Nicw job! Where did you get the template?
  18. Hey Mike That is a great example of why that is the greatest car ever built!! Great job!!!
  19. That is one sweet ride!!!
  20. Very nice, simple and sweet.
  21. Jim O.K. the process sounds the same I laid down the gold strips and then shot the webbing stuff then cleared. Waited a few days sanded to smooth it out then shot more clear which was when the bubbles started. Sanded again shot more clear more bubbles, sanded again added fisheye remover to clear shot again and bubbles came back, spent a hour and a half with tooth pick pushing clear into bubbles, shot another coat of clear. Polished car. It all started when I nicked the paint on the hood and my buddy said we can just cover it "it won't be hard". I got to admitt though I really like it now that it is done. The other phase he like is "custom painting is a ###### shoot you never know what to expect". I would like to see yours if you find them. Jon
  22. Hey Guys! Thanks for the comments. The webbing affect is a trick a freind tought me. We used this spray stuff he got that is for doing lamp shade decorating with, then we laid the depont clear over it. The problem is it made air bubbles in the clear that was a pain to get out. I don't know how they used to do it but I bet it was easier. Jon
  23. Hey Guys! Just thought I would share my latest build. Let me know what you think. Jon
