  1. Hello all Im having trouble figuring out how to remove the imperfections in the window glass on a couple of my future builds with out damaging it further. The two projects are amt's 1/16 1955 Bel air sedan and nomad. I bought the kits through eBay and they are vintage factory sealed, Therefore when the kit was tightly packaged at amt a couple of the tires and the little piece if wire supplied for the ignition system came in contact with the windshield and side glass. Time and pressure has showed that rubber and plastic don't coexist well together. It looks like the rubber tires and ignition wire marred the glass leaving and imprint of the tire tread/side walls and the outline of the ignition wire. What is the safest method or procedure to remove these markings? I feel there will be some sanding involved. What product can I use to make the glass crystal clear again after the sanding? Im hard Pressed to find new glass for this model. I'm feel I can repair this glass and I really don't want to have to get new pieces vac u formed. The other issue Im having is with the same kit is the decals are stuck to the instruction sheet. If I try to separate them, one or the other will get damaged. What is a sure fire way to separate the two with little or no damage to the decals? I will greatly appreciate any help with the problems I'm having. I was really bummed out when I opened the kit.. and found it like this. I don't see a lot of the kits around anymore either so I have to make good on what I have. Thanks for looking and see you at work bench. Nate

  3. Hello all.. I just received a kit in the mail off eBay. it's an mpc dodge monster "tuff" truck molded in orange kit# 1-0451 dated 1984. I have been looking for one of these kits for a short time and found this one sealed and in awesome shape. Well when I opened it up and started looking at the parts I discovered one of the clear red tail lights was missing. Since the kit was factory sealed it must have been misplaced by the person who originally packed the kit at the factory. I was wondering if anyone out there may have an extra set of tail lights that I can buy or have? This kit has a different tail light make up than the ones made by revell/monogram which are one peice chrome plated used on the ramcharger kits. The ones I need are the two piece design. 1) a chrome backing plate and 2) the clear red lens. I only need the clear red lenses to finish the build. If anyone can offer any help at all in locating the parts mentioned please feel free to drop me a line or two. I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Thank you and take it easy Nate
  4. Hello all.. I did a little digging and enhanced the photo I posted earlier and I'm almost 100% positive the kit pictured is amt's 1992 short box kit # 6835. Not a resin casting as I first had thought. The kit is a 2 in 1 and comes with a cab fairing that was reshaped and then along with the short bed was molded into the cab and presto you have a bronco. I'm not sure if you all will agree with me but It sure looks like that's what happened here. I just won that kit on eBay and I plan on doing the body work to build a smaller version of my 1:1 1995 XL. Hope this lead helps somebody out along the way. Thanks everyone & have fun Nate V
  5. Thanks for the leads guys I checked out both of those sites out and they definitely put on the right track!! I think I actually found the correct color on the paint scratch website. I'll post some pictures when I'm finished with the build. Have a good one everybody Nate
  6. Hello all.. I'm getting ready to do a special build and I need some help finding the specific color I'm looking to use. I'm wanting to use the actual paint color of the 1:1 car. The car in question is a Chevy Malibu station wagon 1978 though 1981 body style. From what I remember The color is a metallic gold or light brown. I found the model of it at Parry's resin. Does anyone know of a web site that has general motors paint chips to view or paint codes I can compare to and find the correct paint I need?. If someone can guide me in the right direction please drop me a line. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks and take it easy guys. Nate V

  10. Hi everyone.. I hope someone might be able to help me out on this one!! I'm looking for a resin body for a ford bronco in the 1993 to 1996 body style. 14. Hello all I'm almost done building a revell 1/6 scale ford 427 drag engine and I'm frustrated because I carefully placed some super glue on the pins for the crankcase breathers and now I got that typical super glue white haze on the chrome valve covers and breathers Does anyone have a method to remove it or know a trick to make it not so noticeable? I didn't actually get glue on the chrome itself. I just have a white haze near the bonding points. I didn't want to try any thinners because I didn't want to possibly ruin the chrome finish before getting some advice. Any help at all on this subject would me greatly appreciated. Thanks guys have a good one
  15. That sounds great I would appreciate that greatly. let me know what you turn up. Have a good one. Nate

  17. Hello all. I was wondering if anyone knows of a 1/25 ford bronco kit made in the 1987 to 1991 body style? I saw a build up of one at a recent show but for some dumb a$$ reason I didn't buy it. I came to the conclusion that someone must have kit bashed it with the 1980 bronco kit and the f250 or f350 kits front end. I have looked all over for a bronco being made from in the 87-91 style from the factory but, I can't find one? If any of you bronco fans out there can guild me to where I can find such a kit it would be greatly appreciated or let me know if one even exists in resin or plastic . I'm also interested in the 1993 to 1996 body styles too. Any pictures would be a great help as well. Thanks everyone
