  1. I Had a pretty good time , There were a lot of GREAT models in the contest and a lot of vary good bargains to be had. I didn't spend a lot, But I still came home with some models I've been looking for a while. The weather turned out to be nice too. Im looking forward to the Pot Belly show as I missed it last year. That's always a good show to attend and it's practically in my back yard. Hope to see some of you there. Sorry I missed you Jeff. I really would like to go to Toledo someday.
  2. Me & my buddy Doug Culbertson will be attending the castle shannon show and also the potbelly show. I haven't been to any model related fuctions in a while.
  3. Nothing happened to that jerk !! He's back on here, But hopefully not for long. He's trying to get booted off the forums. I don't appreciate getting ripped off and I don't think he belongs here..
  4. Im curious, Which lindberg kit did those tires come from? Ive never seen a set that looked like those before. They do look great on those wheels too.
  5. Vary nice build Wayne! Im always impressed by how much detail is on military and ship models. It's always fun to check out the tanks & helicopters while at a model show. Keep up the good job & Thanks for your service Nate
  6. Pretty neat build I must say! Keep up the good work. Im interested to see this one finished I love pick up truck builds. Nate
  7. It's really a shame!! We all had such a great time going there and the weather was really nice on that day too. Like I said we will just have to find a different venue and keep it going. Im looking forward to going to Carlisle All truck nationals this year. Its coming up in August.. Sure to be a great time.
  8. The actual car show I'm referring to is the annual rolling oldies 1:1 car show held at New Stanton park near route 70 & the PA turnpike on memorial day weekend (Sunday). My founding club members have been putting on a model display at this show in the lower pavilion for the past fifteen plus years witch consisted of 25 plus full size picnic tables that would be used to display all kinds of different automotive/modeling related subject matter, A vary large Cruise diorama built by a club member to show off all of the models built by the club members. One of the club members would also bring literally a car load of different models and parts and such to sell. There were also members of another local club that would come down and bring they're stuff to display(The Olde potbelly gang). A couple club members would even put they're real cars in the show. We don't for-say advertise our display as It was just something we all did to have a great time to socialize and for the gear-head public to see what we do. What better atmosphere to have a model display, but in the middle of a large car show.. It was free to get in to the car show to look around, But if you had a car to enter in the show is was only $7. The club members would also give a nice donation to the car show organizers as this venue benefits a children's organization. When my club president arrived on May 29Th to set up, One of the organizers said to him "Oh.. We're not having the display this year because the children aren't interested in the models and we had to make a few cut backs in the show" Mean while it doesn't cost them a dime to have us set up at they're venue, They actually make money from us being there !! (Donations, Food sales and t-shirt sales). My president asked why didn't anyone notify us of this change before today? They replied "We called and left a message" Hmmm Nobody in the club got any phone call!! My president had no idea this was going to happen or he wouldn't have had the club members make the trip to the show. Lucky I was just leaving my house when I got the call that the show was cancelled. Im pretty sure we are not ever going back to that venue. Im not blaming the children at all for our display being cancelled! I think those clowns that organized the car show used that as an excuse for not communicating to the club the our display was cancelled. We're going to shift gears and start a new display at a new venue. Maybe there is a silver lining in all this. Take care & have a good holiday Nate
  9. The annual model display & show today at New Stanton park is cancelled !! Guess that shows the hobby is in fact dying out.. Now the house chores are on the agenda. It's gonna be a hot one today too.. How I long for central air conditioning..
  10. Im from Greensburg PA. A little far, But thats what the forum is for.. Nate
  11. I agree about the ad from Scale Motor sports, Vary informative. I really enjoyed Jairus Watsons artwork on the long roof rods two thumbs up! I love station wagons.. Plus a little history lesson on the evolution of station wagons is cool to read. Keep up the good work guys! your all doing a great job
  12. Hey Gang, I was wondering what ever came of the Model Cars Magazine coffee mugs that were pictured in one of the past issues? I wouldn't mind ordering a couple mugs for myself. I hope haven't missed the chance to buy them. Thanks Nate
  13. Got mine last Thursday, I had to call and order a replacement.. BIG surprise there! Every single issue I receive has damage and every time I just call and have a new one sent. I love the magazine though! I wish we had a retailer close that stocked Model Cars. The one and only store to get MCM is HobbyTownUSA over an hour away.

  15. I got this kit from a buddy of mine that had a hobby shop and decided to close do to the economy and low customer interest in his area. He still has a dealers licence but no overhead to worry about, So the prices are even more reasonable than before. As far as the kit goes, It's awesome and Im hopeful they will come out with a hard top version. I feel evan without a top included this kit still is still vary worth building and being proud of. Maybe somebody will pop a roof out in resin someday, Now that would be awesome too. I highly recommend this kit to anyone interested in general motors vehicles.
  16. Vary vary nice work on both of them. This is one of my favorite body styles for the camaro. If you put these babies in front the correct back drop or scale dealer diorama they would look like the real thing from 1969. They even look like a 1:1 car in the photos you posted here. I would really like to see your handy work on the interior.. Again awsome job on both of them Take care Nate V
  17. Vary nice craftsmanship on both of them!! I can't wait to see them completed. Please do post some photos. Take care Nate
  18. Hello all Im in need of some help.. Im building a "beach cruiser" nomad and Im in need of two 1/24 or 1/25 surf boards to mount on the roof. Does anyone know of any model kits out there that came with surf boards as an option? I wouldn't mind using resin if I had to, I just want something with the right proportions and detail. I appreciate any help offered on the subject. Thanks everyone & take care Nate
  19. Hello all, Im doing a build that requires a custom paint job and I want to use house of kolor brand paint. The color I'm looking for is tangelo pearl orange. Does anyone know of a reliable vendor or source that I use to get house of kolor paints in an aerosol can? I was at show last year and a vendor had a few cans of house of kolor in an aerosol, But they sold out in a snap and he said he bought them in a liquidation sale. So I know they exist. Any help would be appreciated. Take care everyone Nate V
  20. I had a 1:1 of a cutlass supreme classic. I wish I never get rid of it . I really wish revell would release the this kit already, But good things come to those who wait. That would be awsome if they do a 4 in 1.. stock, race, lowrider and a 442 version. Wait.. hold me back I have to come back to reallity.. im going to my happy place Lets just keep waiting and hope thay do come out with something soon.. Take care guys
  21. Hello all, I just got some unused model car magazines in the mail that I bought off e-bay. I got 3 in all, Issues 127,130 and 135. I'm really glad I bought them. These are my first ever issues of model cars. I like this magazine so much I just ordered a new subscription off the website. This publication in my opinion is better than scale auto.. I have been getting scale auto since 1999 and over the years the magazine seems to have gotten thinner and with fewer issues now than back in 99. A fellow member of our club here in Pittsburgh (Three rivers auto modelers) turned me on to this site and now onto the publication. I appreciate that there is a great website and magazine like this one that we can all come to for everything that our gear head hearts desire. Keep up the great work guys. I plan on staying here for a long time to come!! Take care Nate
  22. Thank you so much Mr Obsessive for the great reply and photos of your project. I will definitely try out all the tips & tricks everybody has presented to me. I have never made my own glass before and I will have to give it a try. Home made glass sure does look more realistic than the stock model styrene glass. I like the tip about the weather striping in the final steps, That sure would give the model that 1:1 look and feel we all want. Take care everyone. Nate
  23. Hello all UPDATE: I tried to separate the decal sheet from the instructions and discovered after putting gentle care into doing it, It is a lost cause !! The decals that got ruined will have to be replaced. Lucky not all of the decals got damaged so at least I'm not totally at a loss. Take care everyone
  24. Hi harrypri How would I make new glass out of thin clear acetate sheet? I never heard of acetate sheet and have never worked with it. I might go that route if I can't repair my stock glass. Thanks Again Nate
  25. Thanks to all of you that gave the constructive responses. I appreciate your efforts and will put your tips to good use. As for the people (ggomez69) that have an ego trip and had to express it in a cowardly fashion on a site for good honest people. I have reported you to the site moderator. We don't need people like you around here !! Good day..
