  1. That suede color is spot on. Love it!
  2. Well, I hope the first person to get it, will do the honors of posting kit content pics, if possible.
  3. Ken, this one has turned out beautiful. You know what I'm going to say (Jim, cover your hears! ) LONG LIVE RUST!
  4. WOW, every time I think you guys are slowing down, BOOM, the whole thing explodes again with great PROGRESS and amazing energy. THANK YOU. I've copied all of the WIP pictures posted so far. There are still more folks joining the TZH SQUAD, so I think we have already surpassed the 100 STRONG mark. Hey, the more the merrier. This CARAVAN is going to stretch deep into the Zombie Death Horizon. Keep the great work coming, folks! Congrats and cheers! Gen. EYEGORE.
  5. Tom, the other place I would suggest you can look through for goodies is MODEL ROUND UP, they have a few after market suppliers there. If you are looking for something in particular on your list and can't find it, then I say post it to the forum in hopes someone can answer it for you.
  6. Sam, go here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52916 We are going to do another 3-Day Weekend build marathon. The last one got a few people to add a new more to their collection of builds.
  7. Andy, truer words have never been spoken. Which is why I have a big stash of plastic spoons for all the Lab-RAT-ory experiments.
  8. Erik, I totally agree with you. Just by looking at some of the master military builders the likes of Mike Rinaldi, Mig Jimenez, Adam Wilder, Rob Ferreira, and a whole bunch of others, we can learn all we need to make our model cars into rusty, junky jewels, with a great deal of realism to boot too.
  9. Richie, I am delighted to hear you are joining the SQUAD efforts. Keep in mind that as you look through everyone's builds, you are free to exercise your imagination and go with what works, and often what works best it to try to tell the story of how your vehicles is going to fit into the rest of the CARAVAN. Sometimes, if you are lucky, you will immediately think of something completely different, but what I am saying is that it doesn't hurt to have vehicles repeated. Almost the way they designate ships in the US Navy. You can have a bunch of destroyers, a bunch of carriers, etc . . . Just have fun and build your heart out. Cheers, Gen. EYEGORE.
  10. And I think they've learned their lesson to--if they are going to repop a kit--to do so in white styrene, which I confess I like and is the way to go.
  11. Christian, those are great pictures. So the trucks are also a phenomenon over in your part of the world. That truck looks very unique and makes for an interesting subject.. Thanks for sharing. Pictures ARE welcomed, Tony.
  12. I still think there's lots of interesting things we can learn about taking photos of our work and of building a good eye for composition and what works by paying attention to Michael's work.
  13. Thanks for getting this one back on track, folks. Dave, I'm sorry you haven't gotten anything out of the thread. I posted it thinking that people would want to start talking about how they want or have taken their photography to the next level. I used Ken's work because he is one of those builder who goes out of his way to take his photographs to the next level, using a combination of models and dioramas. There's also a big difference in my book between making a video and taking photos. Few model builders take videos of their work. The normal route is taking photos. What I am trying to avoid (and that would be a first on any forum) is feel like I have to run my threads or posts ideas through an APPROVAL COMMITTEE (made up of very small minded individuals) that decides what is useful or valuable, or what people are going to get from my threads or posts. When an idea excites me, I tend to want to share it. It's that simple. Last time I checked, we all share the same privilege and rights . . . I think the forum works beautifully under the basic tenant of the freedom of expression which says that we all have a right not to post, or post, or that, if we post, we have to share something that people can then decide for themselves if it is useful to them or not, whether they like it or not, whether they want to contribute a post or not, JUST AS they are TOTALLY FREE to ignore the thread or my next post and move on to the endless menu of great threads on this forum. In short, my recommendation to these folks is if the grass seems to be greener elsewhere, then go elsewhere, but yet several people insist on walking their pet views on my grass to simply derail my threads or cause trouble. Needless to say, it gets old fast, but it ain't going to work. Doctor Cranky is neither going to start his own forum or stop posting the stuff he feels important, regardless of whose work I use or what intentions I have in mind.
  14. Tom, I always start out that way too, and then I think gee, I wonder if they have anything I could use over the THE MODEL GARAGE . . . and then next you know, the list grows to include some after market stuff, or you take a list to the next show and the list gets BIGGER! The list is always getting bigger, so then you realize you just have to plunge in with what you've got and see where you go from there. I say for a 3-Day build, I'd keep it as simple as possible.
  15. Nice tanker, I like the color too.
  16. Bingo, Jonathan, that's it. I had tried to copy it over from the ModelRoundUp site, but they don't allow for their images to be copies. Thanks, yes, that it.
  17. Sam, great to see you over here, buddy. Welcome, and thank you for adding your amazing builds to the TZH Squad. I copied them for the next WIP Video. Cheers, DC. Rob, I will be checking out your progress as soon as you load them up!
  18. Tony, thanks for the link, and there's another gem coming out in a collector's edition tin: http://www.round2models.com/models/amt/chevy100-fleetline
  19. Wow, then it's the chrome or aluminum parts picking up the image below. Man, I swear the pictures make it look weathered. Yes, you are right, must be the lighting. Regardless, it's a cool engine.
  20. All right, folks, we are approaching the 100 builder mark, but don't let that keep you from joining up and building your own TZH SQUAD. Remember, the more vehicles and troops, the stronger the chances of us beating those Zombie hordes!
  21. J, I think you might have scared of the good Dr. with that definition! I am sure he'll return for another round of WHY-DOES-DOCTOR-CRANKY-NEED-SO-MUCH-ATTENTION? Clearly, EYEGORE, who is always very quiet and soft-spoken, would like to know that too! Okay, hopefully we can get back to the subject at hand . . . if anyone is still interested, that is . . .
  22. Joe, I love the way that engine is looking. Nice weathering on it.
  23. Dave, it's been one of my favorite articles in a magazine--the fact that two builders got together (through the mail) and build a model like this in collaboration. I wish more of us would do that more often. Oh, and it was a two parter too!
  24. LOL, Joseph, that just cracked me up. For a minute I thought of the MEAT PUPPETS, the band!
