  1. That's already a great start up list. If you want a quick and wonderful painting stand, you can go the Donn Yost route and get a pip nipple and I use the 87 cent flange that screws into it. Some tape and you are good to go. BTW--Welcome back to the hobby and WELCOME TO THE BEST AND MOST FUN FORUM!
  2. Darin, the last shot is FABULOUS. Yeah, man, that's the kind of "next level," we are talking about. Fun and different. Cheers, DC
  3. Well, that's good to know, that means it's going to be another great kit to have around and build to change it up a little bit.
  4. Chris, these days I just sing my own version of that Donnie & Marie Osmond song: I'm a little bit rusty, Jim's a little bit shiney too!
  5. Beautiful work, Ken. Of course, the 1:1 research always pays off, doesn't it. You are moving this one further along. I can see it done for the NNL East! Eat more scrapple, take your vitamins, you are almost there.
  6. If you are buying that many, perhaps you should talk to someone about getting you a deeper discount.
  7. Thanks, Neal, for mentioning that tutorial. It's very handy indeed. If any of you are still having trouble posting pictures, let us know.
  8. Welcome to the forum, Wayne. Harry is right, there are lots of choices depending on what your budget is . . . my advice is to do all the research, including looking into a few start up models. I got my first book from Micro Mark. Look around and have fun, and continue to share your eye candy with us. Happy Styrene Journeys.
  9. I would not be too sure it's real, in particular if Harry put this one through his photoshop magic. I see the edges are a little blurred . . . hum, interesting!
  10. Dale, you are right. There's no worse feeling than doing a project like this and not having the right styrene for it.
  11. Great subject matter, I love the way it's turning out.
  12. I did not know the Old Man took his show on the road and did workshops. We gonna have to find a way of bringing you down to Florida, Donn. Well, as long as you bring me a couple of those P. Brother sandwiches!
  13. You boys will catch up, it's not that bad, my friends. Don't ask what you can do for technology, ask instead what it can do for you!
  14. Personally, I can't wait for DVD #3, which a little birdy tells me might be in the works!
  15. Can't wait for it to be printed and bound and sent this way. Congrats to the best trio of ink-slingers!
  16. Mike, thanks so much for bringing back the eye candy and sharing it with us. It looks like this year's show was another outstanding show!
  17. It's got a mean stance, and the right rat look in flat black. Nice job.
  18. Love it, great job on that engine. The color is very nice too.
  19. Excellent dynamic duo of builds. The color is very nice.
  20. The progress continues, Chuck, great for us. It's looking good . . . let there be more, please.
  21. Very cool, you are definitely focusing on where the real vehicles would get lots of rust. Rusting and weathering are fun, so it's great to see others doing it. Keep it going. Oh, and I find it very interesting you started with a painted body already. I think this build is headed in the right direction. Keep it going.
  22. Joe C., it sounds like you are super charged! Sam, great to have you on board. Thanks also for all the great stuff you do over in the YOUTUBE community.
  23. Art, thank you for sharing all the eye candy with us. From the looks of it, there were countless gorgeous models all over the place. Again, thanks for sharing.
  24. Last night, after this thread started to work on me, I ran upstairs to the loft and set up a couple of pictures just to have fun. I've always wanted to take pictures of models at night and with low light. I still have to tinker with the camera settings a bit, but shooting these kinds of pictures is all part of having fun. I am going to continue tinkering until I get the look I am after.
  25. Luke, that's a wonderful build with lots of great details. Christian, thanks for another round of cool food trucks.
