  1. A few years ago a bunch of us over in the diorama world began to exchange dirt. You hear right, DIRT, as in finely sifted soil to be use in our diorama turfing . . .. And I just thought it'd be a cool idea to start a similar exchange among those of us interested in finding new mesh materials we can use as templates for airbrushing our models. It doesn't have to be anything larger than a 3" x 5" card sized piece, which will include whatever you have found and are willing to share in the exchange. For example: any type of mesh material, fishnet, produce packaging, doily (paper or otherwise) screen material, fabric . . .anything that can be sprayed through with the airbrush. Is anyone interested. My doing this is simply to grow my collection (yours too) without having to spend a fortune. And also, I think it'd be a lot of fun. Then again, I might just be totally INSANE! Cheers, Doctor Cranky
  2. They are all looking super wicked. Love 'em.
  3. Welcome back, buddy. Hope you will get right down to business, which is showing us eye candy!
  4. LOL, Al, now I think you are rubbing it in!
  5. Tyler, I recommend your first order of business is to stick around, the other is to run to your public library and check out books and magazines on the subject. Inform yourself, both here and there, and then get going . . . build what you like, and start out with all the basics. Good luck with your styrene addiction.
  6. I got a couple of mesh laundry bags for the material. Looks like a great pattern for making graphics on paint jobs!
  7. You did a great job on all the little details, including getting the monster's skin just right.
  8. John, I am hoping you will post pictures of how you get those graphics done, or are you going with decals?
  9. LOL! Christian, I was wondering when someone was going to chime in on the truth of the matter. It doesn't get THAT cold here (never snows) but since I was born on a tropical island (I don't know how many of you know where the Island of Doctor Moreau is?) I fare pretty well, but the weather changes and it ruins any chance of painting outside, and I tend not to paint indoors, at least not the shiny jobs . . . which is why I stock up on those . . . Keep your own comments coming! Thank you.
  10. That looks wonderful. I can see the attraction to this subject matter. They always turn out very cool.
  11. Can't wait to see the body in progress. Keep it going.
  12. Oh, that paint job is going to look great in scale. Keep it going.
  13. Nice work on those fenders . . . can't wait to see it painted.
  14. Super cool and you've bumped it up a notch with the opening doors. Amazing.
  15. I think staying active is important. It keeps the creative juices flowing, etc . . .
  16. That interior is looking fabulous. Keep it going. Nice build in progress.
  17. I have about a dozen painted bodies, and I plan on finishing most of them between now and next Spring. Then it will be time for some Spring cleaning, etc . . . I'm just curious if anyone else stocks up on enough styrene to feed their styrene addictions during the months of hibernation! LOL!
  18. Just curious to find out if you guys do anything special to prepare for the winter months. For example, do you stock up on paint jobs of kits you want to build while it is snowing outside? Is there anything special you do, let's hear about it . . .
  19. I keep coming back for more.
  20. More progress, please. Take your vitamins, John, and keep this one going!
  21. Christian, I like it. Nice color, and it's a wonderful model.
  22. Welcome,Miguel. It's great to have your work on board on this forum. This is like the eye candy store, the national store, I must say. No other substitutions will do! Have fun and always share your work and your skills with us!
