  1. Plenty of more progress and weathering ahead.
  2. I hope you will remember this when I tell you that this kit will bring you big smiles while you build it. It squares up really nice and goes together so well.
  3. Here comes some progress:
  4. Thanks, everyone, and Brett, thanks for the pictures of Mr. Gibbon's new ride. Look sweet.
  5. LONG LIVE STYRENE. You guys sure know how to make my day, between rust and scrapple, what else can be better? Thank you all. I had a great day finished with a great meal of duck and lamb with risotto and wild mushrooms. 50 is in the bag, here comes 51! Cheers, DC
  6. Aw, thanks CRANKYHEADS. You are the best!
  7. Thanks, Ira. The way this kit is coming together, I am having a blast!
  8. Thanks, Benoit. For those of you interested in the on-going narrative of this build, here's another video: WATCH VIDEO HERE!
  9. Thanks, John. I am looking forward to this decade. I hope get a few more models built. And it's a real pleasure (and honor too) to be in the company of such fine model builders such as yourself. Cheers, DC
  10. Steven, I'm going with the stock suspension and ride hight that comes with the kit. The next one I might do some frame modifications to and lower all the way to the weeds. Thanks, Richard. The sun is out! Off to paint some more parts.
  11. LOL, it's getting crowded inside this old noggin', Chuck. If I answered that, they might might have to send me in to get re-wired.
  12. Mike, thanks for the kind words. The wash is from VALLEJO, although the AK-INTERACTIVE wash is also excellent. They both work very well.
  13. The great work and attention to detail continues, John, just the kind of inspiration we can feed off of!
  14. Frame shot: Stay tuned in for more progress. Thank you.
  15. To the untrained eye the model looks painted in black, but far from it. It's got over a dozen colors in it, and in person you'd see all the different tones and hues. Overkill? Perhaps, but I've started a new diet called getting-up-to-clean-the-airbrush and I think it's going to hel me shed some pounds. LOL. It's coming along, Billy, it's coming along:
  16. A worn of warning about this kit. Do not assemble and glue the interior tub outside of the body. The kit parts are set up so that they literally snap into place, then you can glue in the seats and the dashboard. It's beginning to look like something: It's amazing how far a simple wash can take your wheels in particular to help knock off that freshly-painting look:
  17. Thanks, everyone, for staying tuned in. Well, the fun continues . . . Getting the main components painted using a combination of techniques. Once you have a clear vision of where a model is headed the best you can do is chase after your imagination.
  18. Thanks, CRANKYHEADS. I can't believe we've clocked in 51 years on this planet. It's great to be among such a wonderful community of friends and builders. Thank you.
  19. Ah, Rob, you remember those, eh? LOL!
  20. The crank shaft is from the Blue Printers parts pack, and I thought it came in a smaller version too, but I guess not.
  21. Lead foot, that'a bout right. LOL. Sometimes a video is worth a thousand words, and perhaps this will explain where I'm sort of going with this build:
  22. Thanks, now the task at hand is to start the rusting/weathering painting. Stay tuned in, you CRANKYHEADS.
  23. And speaking of paint, here we have the line up of the basecoats for this build, all acrylic . . .
  24. Thanks, everybody, okay, this round of pictures makes it official: every single part is in primer and ready for paint:
