  1. Sorry, I ended up double posting because the forum has been ultra slow lately. Again, my apologies.
  2. There was D. Cranky working diligently in his shop, when suddenly someone knocs on the door and it's none other than a famous representative from Jairus Watson's workbench coming over for a visit . . . he actually brought Cranky a new box of Cuban seed stoggies . . . So, after much celebration, then came the photo op before this thin fellow headed back home to Portland. Gee, look how well he fits into his parking spot! For more pictures of this newly built photo op base, please visit my Fotki archives. Enjoy!
  3. For those of you who don't have a compresssor and or are looking for an upgrade, check out the Husky ones on sale for 49.99 at Home Depot. Yes, you heard right: 49.99! I'm not kidding!!!
  4. Yippy! I found it. Hey, J, this is one sweet ride. I only wish I could see it burning up the tracks . . . you did a great job on the RAT F. too!
  5. Great job!!! I love this truck . . .and the weathering is just fabulous!!!
  6. Nothing short of gorgeous!!!!
  7. Nobody does it better, Mr. Mitchum!!!
  8. That's a good idea, Ron. Thanks.
  9. Here's a site that will help keep you inspired about using your ping pong balls and scratchbuilding ability. Enjoy: http://www.fichtenfoo.com/02GiantRobots/02b-dunehopper.htm
  10. This is something new I am working on in HO scale . . . HO is often perfect to try different compositions before commiting to doing them in a larger scale . . . the level of detail is not as sharp, but you get the basic idea . . . I am still detailing some of this and also the figures are yet to be mocked and placed on the scene . . .
  11. I haven't seen clear ones . . . hum . . . where did you find yours?
  12. Not at all, buddy. It looks like you drove your jalopy to the store and picked out a good one! Let's see what this round cargo ends up becoming!
  13. Yeap, you go with the ones you got or can buy. By the way, if for some reason you find you don't like your round ping pong balls, you can go for those plastic eggs that they sell for Easter . . . How's that to make the censors worry? This would have never flown(or sagged or hatched) over at the SAM forum!
  14. I was thinking of only one ping pong ball, but if you want to use several, that's fine too . . . oh, and they come in different colors too . . . including white, so yeah, don't get a color that will make you worry about bleed through . . . keep it fun.
  15. The Greggster is another year older . . . Happy B-Day, buddy! May the local governments hold a luao in your honor!!!
  16. I think this one is going to do to you guys what it did to me when I first saw this: It's going to worm itself inside your brain and not let you sleep at night . . .
  17. The idea behind this is to keep it SIMPLE and FUN!!!
  18. Exactly, you heard right. Here's the challenge . . . the other day I found a set of 6 ping pong balls (very cheap) at the supermarket and I got an idea . . . a ping pong ball challenge! This is more a stay-sharp exercise than anything else, but here's the deal. What can you build using a ping pong ball? There are no rules and no deadline other than you have to use a ping pong ball. How's that for a fire-in-the-brain puzzler? Any takers? This is perfect for some of you between projects . . .
  19. Wishing you a speedy recovery to 100%.
  20. He came across a bit too cranky for me on his show . . . and he lost quite a few great builders in the shop because of it . . . He certainly was instrumental in keeping customizing going . . . I am sure Chip Foose and Charlie (the painter) will have some nice things to say about him. . .
  21. Tell you what. This is one classy kit. No matter what color you paint it and what you do to it, it still looks like a million bucks. I love it. Great job!!!
  22. I've got the garage divided into work-type related areas . . . like this is where I build . . . And also where I do detailed airbrushing . . . but it is also where I share the space with my in-progress 8' x 12' HO layout . . . . And the side where I keep the non-toxic paints and some builds I am working on . . . my motorcycle also fits in there . . . Too many toys too little time!!!
  23. BEAUTIFUL!!! Great job on that paint. That and tangelo are about my all time fave colors!!!
  24. I find that what often triggers a build is being influenced by something I have seen here or in a magazine or on TV . . . going to model shows is often a great energy booster . . . And many times, it's true, a new kit will trigger a build!!!
  25. Oh, yeah, that's for sure . . . lots of great, amazing ideas!
