Love it. Best scratch built I have see in awhile. Totally out of the ordinary. It is amazing what a fertile mind can come up with.

That is a good looking old school custom. I remember when the old model magazines were full of them.
-
Looks like you have another nice build there.
-
I like what you got going there. I like the color also.

Seeing that the folks at Fujimi are making most of their domestic versions," as you say". I wonder if the sell any of them over there? If they do? I wonder how or why anyone would buy something new and up to date over there? Over here that would never work making new domestic kits. We have all been told so. -

Here is you list. 2010 model trucks and cars- all trucks with the option to build two or four wheel drive versions- Ford Super Duty, Chevy Silverado, Dodge Ram, Toyota Tacoma,Honda Rigeline, Nissan Titan or Frontier The rest they could make.Volkswagen Touareg, Ford Escape or Freestyle,Jeep Liberty,Chevy Suburban, Honda Element,Nissan Cube, Honda Element, Scion XB,Ford 2010 Taurus, Pontiac Solstice,Pontiac G6,Toyota Camry or Corolla,Honda Accord, Nissan Maxima, Chevy Cobalt, Ford Focus. That is enough for now. I am sure you and Mark will have a reason why they will never do any of these. -

I am glad that you are the spokesman for the model companies. The real cars companies thought the same way. Look what happened to them. They rehashed the same things over and over. Just like you rehash the same reasons over and over. They knew best also ? Maybe the down fall began when they stop making the models of each new year. Have you ever thought about it that way? I don't think you have? Times have changed but the model companies have not. I am just saying they should rethink their strategy. You say I am not saying this from the head. I don't think you look at it but only your way. -
You did great job on that bus. I have always liked that model for some reason.

Nice work on the Mustang. Nice job on the cast wheels. I like your Pinto in the picture.

Where are the Model Trucks?
James Flowers replied to The Red Ranger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
When I started building models was around 1958 or 59 On the shelves were new models and promo's of the time period . Evey year they would update to the next years models. That is what got me in to building models. How many kids might do the same as I did today? They will never be given the chance to build what Mom And Dad drives today ?Because now you and others keep saying that up to date cars and trucks would not sell. Well I say to that B.S. The same models over and over is going to kill this hobby sooner than later. If a model company won't take a risk on up to date cars and trucks . Then I believe they are missing the boat and should close. What is up with your attitude? I don't have a right to say anything but you do? -

I will tell you when my dad took me to my first model shop. They had the cars of the time period 1958 or 1959 year cars on the shelves and all kinds of promo's to chose from. They did this for along time. New up to date model cars every year. That is what got me started building for 50 years. How many kids would do the same thing If that were the case today? Now I have to be content with those same old cars over and over again. Well I am not and never will be. New things are the life blood of everything . Going stagnate with the same thing over and over will kill this hobby sooner than later. If the model companies are not willing to take a risk on new up to date cars and trucks? They should quit now. By the way I drive a 2002 ZX3 With the dual overhead cam engine. Fun car to drive. -

How would anyone know who painted the model? If no one tells ? Maybe you should put some tell.tail mark in every paint job you do? If you or anyone else is concerned about that. By the way nice paint work. -

When I say new cars or trucks? I mean what you see everyday on the road. My point diecast are sold everywhere. Plastic models are not . Result very limited sales. There for limited profit. Who says that every model has to be a full detailed kit? They could make snap kits or promo type models a lot more subjects. You can always scratch build a full detailed model from the snap kit or promo. We did this all through the early years of modeling. I believe we still do. I mean no ill will toward you at all. Just the way I see it. -

That's what it is a hobby. I don't think I am unhappy about it. Sorry I never contribute anything positive here. No it is not a blood sport. I have to agree with Harry about your attitude though. Your list of new tooling? Only two interest me. -

I am sorry that you do not like what I say. That is your problem not mine. For the new tooling there is not much I like. I want modern cars and trucks.I think a lot of other people do also. What is wrong with that? The die cast makers seem to not have a problem with making all sorts of odd modeling subjects. They must make money on them to keep making all those odd ball cars and trucks? I guess they don't have tooling cost? Have you considered becoming a politician? I hear it is a good line of work. -
I like the way you did the seats. Nice build.

I asked those questions already .I guess that the few insiders on here seem to have all the answers. So lets not ever want new tooling. The companies will not listen to you because they always know what we want. Just like the big three car companies knew what we wanted. What happened to them? -
I'll tell you what I want...

Where are the Model Trucks?
James Flowers replied to The Red Ranger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
So I guess its 57 Chevy's and 32 Fords and chopped 49 Mercury's are all we will ever get. I have not bought a one and I will not. So when all of us old modelers die, I guess the hobby will die also. Because no one will want what they sell Now.
