  1. ok ron, gimme a few mins and ill post some more builds...... thanks! bryan
  2. yepper! ive used it on a couple builds......well not orange, but i have used ford engine blue as well.......what i did with this 57, was shoot the color on, and let it dry for a day, then i sanded it with 2000 grit paper, laid out the decals, then cleared it.... and of course sanded and buffed the clear as well.... kinda like doing an old custom lacquer job, you spray a coat, let it dry and then sand it smooth with 1500 grit........lay down another coat, sand it again......and keep repeating that until you end up with paint that is as smooth as glass, and looks 100 miles deep! thanks again Ron! bryan
  3. I hope ya dont mind, but i saved 2 of these pics for my archives!! i have folders full of outstanding builds by other modellers, and yours definetely qualifies to be in there, what a great build.........i want it!!! LOL box it up and send it to me! LOL just kiddin` very nice work cheers bryan

  7. thanks Ron! yea i painted the 57 chevy, but the merc is all Dr.cranky! i still have a few bodies here that i have to build, that were painted by Virgil...... cheers bryan
  8. oh yea, he saw the plate! i only use two different plates on my builds...... "PA 1613" and Florida "cranky". i used to use "pm auto" plates, but it sounded too much like a fly by night company to me. PM is my dads initials, and since he has passed away i have been usin the "pm" on the plates, but a while back i changed it to "1613" P being the 16th letter of the alphabet, and "m" being the 13th....... my ficticious speedshop is called "1613 Autoworks" as a tribute to my Dad, he is the one who really got me building again...... cheers Bryan
  9. thanks Ron! the paint did come out pretty nice on this one, especially for a can of duplicolor chevy engine orange, and then i added the decals to it and buried them under about 5 coats of clear...... cheers bryan
  10. Dang! i just noticed that the photoetched license plate frame must have fallen off! gotta fix that! bummer thanks again for lookin guys bryan
  11. Ok, this is the 3rd time i have tried to post this, photobucket is being stupid for some reason! LOL heres my 49 merc custom. the paint is HOK, the interior is black n orange to match, the wheels and tires are 59 caddy parts, and i added the firestone lettering and the gold stripe to the tires with decals...... to give credit where it is due.....the exterior paint was done by Dr.Cranky. he sent it up to me and i just had to build it! thanks again virgil. i still have a couple cranky painted bodies here i have to build! thanks for lookin guys! bryan
  12. thanks Jeff! yea thats my bad......its a 66 not a 67 DUH! LOL......ill edit it now, i thought it sounded funny... thanks again cheers bryan
  13. thanks jonathan! heres a shot of the underside...... cheers bryan
  14. thanks Nick! yea, at first i didnt like the look of it without the trim rings, but after i finished it up i really liked it........it looks like a budget hotrod, well except for the flames.....ha! this one has been packed away in a box for a while, and i got it out recently, and added it to my display cabinet.... thanks! bryan
  15. heres another oldie from my bench. 66 chevy wagon. i added a bamboo rack to the roof to carry the boards, and in the back it has a cooler, and some beachtowels..ect,ect this one now resides in the collection of our very own Dr.Cranky. when i was building it he liked it so much i packed it up and sent it off to sunny florida to be closer to the beach! LOL the rack is real bamboo, and i weathered it lightly. just some crust on the engine, and light rust on the bumpers........with a small primer spot here and there..... thanks for lookin cheers bryan
  16. here another very old build of mine, built back in 2004, or maybe even earlier.........so we`ll just say Circa 2004.. its just a plain jane57 chevy with the wide quarter trim removed, i think the Biscaynes had trim like this........im not sure?? this was probably my second build after getting back into the hobby, after a 20 year abscence..... its the monogram 1/24th scale 57 the paint is chevy engine orange, and i put a 409 in there just to be different......the decals are from the 67 chevelle pro street. thanks for lookin guys! bryan
