Didn't BMF come out so you don't have to use tin foil and glue. I hear this stuff already had the glue on it. And it comes in all sorts of shades and finishes. Silver sharpies work good for door panels and such, but not quite like foil for trim work.

Guess we shall find out, not like I didnt need a reason to find a hobby shop anyway. I dont mind starting with a fresh one, not that I have a bunch of these ones anyway.

A Plea for a RUST ONLY Section!

Keep the work bench and list the vehicles as they would be at some of the bigger shows/contests ? Is there normaly a "weathered" build class, or do thay lump those into dios? Are all the race cars lumped onto one table? I think you could thin it down a little more Harry and list all the reviews under the hobby room. -
I'm pretty sure part of it, is starting with a new, purchesed kit for the contest.

2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
moparmagiclives replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
Finaly got a little progress on the "NUKES OF HAZZARD" Ive got the HEMI just about wrapped up but for the stacks and fan I've finished the interior. I know its a tad shinny but I dont have anything on hand to knock that down with. I've been using MM water paints to do all the washes. May have to looking into some flats if I do any more projects like this. I was talking to a frined of mine about the build and he was comenting that the first thing he would do would be to cut the hood open and bolt it down ( a few to many demo derbys) So out came the ball grinder TThis shows a little bit of the "battle damage" and rusting......probly due to sitting behind the barn for all those years... And finaly to the weapons, I had taken me a wile to think of something, but after a little scavaging, I made flame thrower heat shield out of a drive line cover off a nascar kit, and stole tha dark nights fender mounted full auto for the other side. I still need to make the cut out fender cover to mount on top of it to fill the hole when its retracted. I picked up some screen mesh to do some window panels, but I'm torn between that or steel panels, I just dont want to hide the body lines of the car itself.....I know I know, thats not the hunters spirit..lol, I would like to take a min to thank Dr. Cranky for puting this out here, Its the first time I've ever done a junker, and I'm having a ball doing it. -
There are plenty of them that are in production, even listed on their own site that would fit this contest. Maybe it's an over supply issue ? Trying to boost the sales of a few that have been slow movers? Who knows. Beggars can't be choosers,

Yeah, I see a few that should be and a few that shouldn't be on the list.

That's very nice , very clean . I love the big body mustangs.

Die Cast Opinions
moparmagiclives replied to FASTBACK340's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think people have a problem with them due to the fact that most come pre painted and finished...you dont see a lot of snap kits on this site. not to say there are none, just not alot. I bet if you started a post with a raw "die cast" kit that you had to take some files and drum sanders too before any paint work, you would hear some different songs from people. -
Changed The Format
moparmagiclives replied to Old Sprinter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
no,no thats daje vu......I think someone needs to open the window and let the glue fumes out ....wait a minute -
I never thought about the 63/64 Impala as a muscle car, but I grew up around to many of them with spokes on them I guess. I though I read somewhere here it was going to be world wide ?

I'm wondering how many people glue down the body when they finish buiding something. Do any shows or contests ask for the tub to be pulled out for inspection? I see alot of pics on here of the interior tub up close, is that taken before its all glued together or are they left to be removed for viewing?

For a second I almost thought you were talking to your self...then I noticed the names are different for both avatars... I think it looks great like it is, it might want to squat a little when you get on it, but just try and keep it pointed north and you should be fine...

2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
moparmagiclives replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
This thing should have been in "Jeeprers Creepers" Awesome !!! -
I was working on my DOH Charger last night for Dr.'s Zombie group and noticed that I'm about 90% done with paint and sub assemblies, and had yet to open the instruction sheet. I was feeling a little stoked of what I had done, until I realized what a ###### kit this is and that my two year old girl could probly manage to assemble the exhaust/axle/spring assembly to the frame/floor/front suspension pan and have the complete under car all done. Man what a basic design. BUT..... as I was assembling the roll cage to rust up and finish the interior, I noticed that the upper bars that make the hoop could go either way, so to try and stay some what acurate, I cracked that baby open and there it was..the CORRECT way to assemble the roll bar. In black and white. Then I had to go back over just to make sure I hadnt missed anything in my haste to start building ...I swear even the drawing in the instructions show all the flashing on this thing..

Question for the Mopar crew
moparmagiclives replied to imatt88's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ahh.... So it did come from a bigger family.. Lol, then my standard hold true lol. They really are a very practical vehicle. I Tryed to he my wife to drive one before we got our Tahoe. No such luck. Now she wishes she would have with all the features they have.
