Thanks for the headsup on the tires. I checked them. They're installed on the wheels, and there doesn't seem to be any burn.

No spy goodies in this one, but it does have a usable girl figure.

The tires are unlike anything I've ever seen from MPC. Come to think of it, so's the rest of the construction. Was this originally an Airfix kit?

It was originally an Airfix kit.

They are 1/24 I think, not totally sure but they are nice, I grab them when I can especially at $10 each for these! He had a longer wheel base truck also and I didn’t get it so I went back and he already packed up for the day, man I was stupid!

I got the auger truck for five bucks and it was in a cello wrappper. The lady still has the other utility truck which I will go get this week I think.

Went on a weekend trip with my wife and the family and hit a couple antique malls and a large flea market in New York and picked these up, all of these were great deals!

Nice Topkicks. Seen two different utility trucks, one which you have and I have as well. Never seen the Schwann's truck though. Are the trucks 1/25th scale at all? I don't have any pick up truck models to compare it to.

Internet pic. I am building this for the model room. May get another on for the garage too. I'm about half way through the build. I'm as far as the peg board. Still have to add the worktop and shelf underneath.  Has two drawers and a work light. Lotsa nuts and bolts of different sizes. Pay attention if you buy this and build it. I paid about 96 bux with free delivery and took two weeks to get it. 24 by 48 inch top surface.

Very cool! I've had one of these in the stash since 1969. I swiped the engine out of it to put in a '66 Skylark back in the day, I think all the rest is still there. Not long ago I was able to lend the radiator wall to someone--was it ChrisBCritter?--to copy for a build, and he returned it no problem. Maybe I'll actually build the thing someday.

You should build it. It will go well with the 1970 Buick promo style kit that was reissued a few years back.

This lovely was sitting on my porch today. Mostly complete, no instruction sheet and no stock wheels. Engine halves glued together. Original kit tires are gone but someone had the foresight to add a set of newer tires from a Round 2 parts pack of tires with the double white wall stripe...I will take it. Stock wheels are easy enough to find. Pic sourced from the internet. I built this as a teen in high screwl and I always wanted another. Got it for a fair price.

Did I ask for any info on the kit, no I did not.

Was merely sharing what I had got today and my intention to build my version/my way. And no where did I say I was wanting to build a dead nutz replica either.

Im capable of reading and doing my own research to learn what I need to build what and how I want.

Whether thats right or wrong I just dont care. As long as im happy with my build, thats all that matters to me.

If people want to chime in and give a history lesson or be the info guy thats cool, just dont assume without asking a person intentions with a kit or build.

Howza bout putting the Aussie flag on the roof and naming it after an Aussie General....might be cool.

Ha! That’s hilarious and ironic!  The paint i bought there wasn’t easy either.  The paint racks.. both Tamiya and Testors.. that they only sell because of RC cars.. is in the very back corner of the store.. Katy corner to the RC service counter. As I headed for it, a kid yells at me, “Where you going?”  I reply, “Paint Rack” pointing in the corner. He yells back, “You can’t go behind the counter. Tell me what paint you want and I’ll give it to you.”

I ask, “How would I know what I want if I can’t look at it?” The rack is far enough back and sideways so unless I came in with a pre researched list. So I ignored the jerk and went to the rack.  I told him the last time I was there I bought $80 worth of paint.

So he stood there and stared at my back the whole time. I needed the clear red. I was looking for a green for a project so I quickly picked one and I always get an extra can.. or three of clear gloss.

If I had been left alone, or if someone was (gasp!) a tiny bit friendly I would have taken my time and maybe doubled / tripled my purchase.

Next thing they’ll discontinue paint because it doesn’t sell!

Make sure you let the owner know this problem.

That made me think back to many years ago when a small, local drug store here announced it was going out of business. At the back of the store was a shelf with about 30 or so 1/25 model kits on it, all AMT and Jo-Han original issues from the 1960's and very early 1970's. Why I had never seen them there before was because I'd never been in that store before that day that I spotted them. A few were opened and no longer sealed and all of them had a thin layer of dust on them.

No wonder they'd never been sold, that shelf was practically invisible so far back. There was also Testor's paints, but the bottles looked like the paint inside was all dried up. A sign read "All items on this shelf 90% off marked price", which meant a $1.50 Jo-Han kit would be 15 cents! I was late for work and in a hurry so I grabbed the aspirin I'd stopped in to get and left, reminding myself to go back the next day and buy them all.

But I had to work heavy overtime and didn't make it back there until three days later. The store was closed down and locked up, out of business. I hope no one heard me cursing to myself.

That sucks. I've had similar instances which is why I made the offer to get it while the getting was good.

  10. So I walk into my pharmacy where I get my meds and he has a shelf with model cars in there. Been there  awhile and I think I'm the only one who has ever bought a model off that shelf. I know the owner has been wanting to dedicate that shelf to something else as he isn't going to stock any more kits. I asked what kind of discount I would get if I bought all the kits left (6 kits) on that shelf. He tells me 30%. I says Great! I will buy them. So I wound up with a Revell 67 Chevelle, Revell COPO Nova, AMT 1/32 scale 66 Mustang, MPC 80s Camaro, Revell 57 Chevy newer tool, and a Revell 32 Ford. All about 80 bux.

I will only use Phrozen printers. It's a Taiwan company run by 3 Taiwanese engineers. The printer in this case is the 2018 XL I upgraded it from a 2k rgb lcd to a 4k mono lcd last June. Mono lcds let more light through and cure the resin faster. This speed the print time up by i/3 rd or more. The 57 DeSoto took 15 hrs at 2k and 11 hrs 4k.

Which Phrozen printer do you use?

Couple years ago I bought at Walmart  can of Rustoleum Charcoal Gray Metallic paint. (Looks like the only other color in this line is the Cobalt Blue, with which I've done a couple decent paint jobs.) Wanted it for a particular diecast I'm gonna get around to SOMEDAY.  Now, sometime, in the last six months or so, I was working on something else that I thought that metallic gray would have been perfect for, so I went looking for my can of it, and couldn't find it anywhere. And Walmart didn't have the paint (of course). But I can't remember what that project was--whether I pressed on with some other color, or shelved the whole thing.

So Walmart had the paint again this week so I got a new can. Now I can't remember what I wanted to use it on (except for that diecast, which isn't on my immediate build schedule)!

What would look good in a metallic dark gray? Only thing I can think of offhand might be a Dodge Stealth. Any other ideas?
