  1. id imagine they would look right if your accent color is orange. Only one way to find out.
  2. Awesome, with a bit of firewall massaging thats going to look great. I robbed my Sportman for all its parts some time ago as well. The engine, rear wheels and part of the frame ended up in this thing...
  3. Yeah id say the new tires gave it a wider stance, looks great. Since youve taken the headers and tires off of the sportsman already, why not transplant the sportsmans engine into the 32', it would do a mighty fine job of spinning those rears.
  4. Looking good. Maybe its just a weird camera angle, but only thing i would say is that the body should either drop over the front of the frame a bit more, or be raised up on the back of the frame a touch. The reveal on the frame should run parallel to the lower edge of the body.
  5. That's the one, forgot it was a 55'
  6. Couldn't pass this one up in the Wal-Mart clearance section a few months back. Progress has been only when i get a few minutes, or when another project doesnt have my attention. So far ive chopped the top, drilled the visor, cut out the windows and tonite made patch panels for the roof holes. Im not sure what i want to do with the siren. part of me says leave it even though it wont be repainted as a sheriffs car. The other part of me says trim it off and fill it. What do you guys think? Heres a link to the original piece, as i didn't take early pictures. [url="http://www.entertainmentearth.com/images/%5CAUTOIMAGES%5CMTN5541lg.jpg" Here it is so far...
  7. Great build, neat and clean without too much else. The engine and header setup look awesome.
  8. Power windows would be the easiest route i guess. Im sure you could carve out a pair of cranks from a piece of styrene, or maybe rob another kit for its cranks. Either way, this build is going to turn out great.
  9. this is basically as far as ive taken the chassis. Its a stock chassis that has been z'd in the front and will be in the rear when i get around to it, the tube in the rear will keep it square until then. the frame rails were channeled into the floor as well to keep enough space inside for the driver and passenger. with the heavy chop and section a traditional channeling just wouldn't work As far as i can remember, the headers came from a 57' chevy sportsman kit. it was a revell kit i think.
  10. I love the carpeting and seats, is the rest of the interior staying white?
  11. that guy must own the worlds smallest set of hammers and dollies. Amazing work.
  12. many years ago there was a 1987-91 4wd Nissan hardbody that use to cruise around here, it was on airbags and body dropped. Awesome engineering. Good luck with your build.
  13. i built the Jada Corvette and the wheels were huge also. I heard from somebody on this forum or maybe another that if you change the wheels out for regular 1/25s it makes for a fine looking model. I never got around to it.
  14. Can't go wrong with a 32' sedan. Here's one i started quite some time ago and never finished, it just sits on my shelf as is until i decide to finish it one day, maybe. Its been chopped, sectioned and channeled.
  15. heres an address to quite a few basic setups... http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tech/0604...s_diagrams.html or if you like the IRS option, there are many mini trucks rolling around with custom rear IRS as well
  16. Awesome, this should be pretty darn cool. I think it might look even better with a bit off the top.
  17. Ah man i havent seen one of these kits on a shelf in quite some time. Nice work, what kind of suspension are you putting on it?
  18. I was behind one at a light on Sunday and the new rear looks absolutely terrible.
  19. so many possibilities, four link, three link, ladder bar, cantilever, etc. you could even keep the leaves and do it simple. id suggest looking at the IF customs site they have a lot of build pictures. the devious customs site has some good pictures as well.
  20. Thanks for the comments guys, yeah these are great fun little kits. I dont think there is a way to build one that wouldnt look right. ive started work on the messa schnitzel recently, its a whacked out Messerschmitt 109. Hopefully before i finish it, ill get around to hanging some more lighting in here.
  21. Such a great vehicle, i remember if you gave it some gas and dropped it into third you could fire off one heck of a backfire. Who makes the Scout kit?
  22. I picked up a bunch of the Valspar HOK product after it was put on clearance at walmart. The paint out of the jars isn't bad, I couldn't find the proper reducer so i just cut it with xylene for my airbrush. In hindsight i think the cans need to be decanted though. i ran into more than a few faulty cans, that either didnt have proper pressure or bad tips. probably from people playing with them in the store.
  23. Somehow this one got done in the madness of moving houses and during reconstruction of my new hobby room/garage (still in progress). Anyhow its the Deals Wheels Spitfire kit. fun build, all box stock except for the pulled cotton smoke and metal mesh in place of the plastic radiator screen, not that anyone will even see it. Then airbrushed using the House of Kolor military paint assortment. so fun to build infact, ive purchased the messa schnitzel kit as well. Id like to get a few more of these going for a nice dogfight scene on the ceiling. Sorry about the lighting, i strung it up before pictures and the only lighting in here at the moment is a two tube strip light above the bench.
  24. that is some amazing work. the fit looks flawless, and great job on the cage.
  25. wow! that is some great work, i cant wait to see this one progress.
