  1. Thanks Tim. Do you sell those or is it just a spare for you. I have not committed to a rack yet
  2. Here are the latest pics of the Americanized W900 Australia. I am waiting on a lot of custom stuff including a headache rack and some other goodies. If you notice most of the chrome pieces are from the Revell Snap KW as I think they are better quality. The rest came from the parts box. Still needs plumbed but thats about it. Now I need a trailer for it. I am thinking a lowboy or a chip van.
  3. Here are some updated pics. The cab still is not mounted.
  4. Great trucks. I have lots of respect for these trucks and the men that both built them and drove them. I have seen many of them in action in the woods on Vancouver Island.
  5. Its the cheap and easy way out. LOL
  6. Came out very nice Tim. I like the color too.
  7. Out in Oregon where I am from it is very common for truckers to remove the sleeper on what ever truck they happen to own at the moment and what they do is find some whether molding that will fit the hole that is left and have a custom piece of glass made. It makes for a really big rear window. I wish I could find a picture.
  8. The 3408. I love the detail on this engine Rear suspension Back of cab ground down Frame painted I went with Pumpkin Orange for the color and it looks great in the sun
  9. Here are some pics of the initial build process. I started out with the Australia Hauler because I got a very good deal on it but never had any intention of making it in to the Australia truck. It is a very nice model and goes together well. I love the detail in it also. Front Suspension The chassis coming together The rear suspension Front axle. I was disappointed to find it was not a steerable axle. I assumed it was. I had to grind away much of the plastic to get these to fit the shape of the differential housing Prepping the back of the cab to have the raised edge for the sleeper removed Some more progress Engine mock up
  10. Does anyone make a day cab insert for the Revell W900 Australia kit. I am not adding the sleeper and will need one. However this truck will have the very large sour krouts rack on it so it may not matter. Thats another thing. When is Sour Krouts going to start getting some of that stuff back in stock. They would make a fortune just off me.
  11. I dont know but if it is I would like to get one.
  12. I should have specified that I just happen to get that kit because it was a good deal. I was not necessarily planning on building it as an Aussie truck I thinking more of West Canadian heavy haul. Those pics did give me some ideas though so I do thank you for them
  13. I was reading not to long ago about the same things you were talking about. There is some amazing history that know body knows about in the Pacific NW!
  14. That truc is long. I would hate to try and navigate that through Walmart
  15. A friend of my dads left his thermos on the dash once and it fell right through the back window. He was mad.
  16. LOL, its all good. If You do happen apon some good ones would ya bring them to my attention.
  17. That is such a neat truck (and some good history too, even I didnt know that). Thanks for sharing
  18. Good stuff, good stuff. I am not able to find many pics of this truck or even the American version put together. Does any one have some pics of the completed trucks. I am not looking for box stock so dont worry about it.
  19. I will cheack those out. THanks for the links
  20. Ya he gets out, at most mills the driver is the one responsible for dumping his own truck. I have seen a few times where the driver did not secure his truck and the whole thing slid in to the hopper. Not pretty.
  21. I have just ordered a KW W900 Australia to build but I am unsure of the direction to go. I generally do Log trucks or at least forestry related trucks but I think I want to build this one as a heavy haul. The problem is I am not much good at custom building stuff and a nice lowboy like a Fontain or something is way beyond my skills. Anyways the truck will be a Day cab, you know me, I never was in to long haul trucks. It will definitely have some kind of heavy duty headache rack, possibly with a winch. I am looking at a couple from sour kroutz right now. If any of you guys have some good ideas or pictures I would love to see them as I am kinda at a loss at the moment,
  22. The bottom of the trailer is shaped the way it is to ease in unloading. This trailer was built to haul wood chips. THe way these trailers are emptied is by backing them up a ramp and then tilting the ramp back words with the truck and trailer on board so that everything slides out the back. Hard to explain but cool to watch.
