Very slick Steve, the only thing I don't like is the Title, "Canada's Nova" it really wasn't, we had both, but that's my only nit pick, the build looks great, I eventually should start my '66 Acadian Canso SD Nick

Nick Winter replied to bandit1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Now the facts from the son of a government employee (no not postal) They were delivering 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday and friday) Then the Heads of Canada post locked them out, as it's going now the government has said it will force everyone back to work monday, but they are in negociation right now trying to get what they want throught collective bargaining before Monday. That's how I have read it and been explained it. Nick Edit: my dad works for the CBC(Canadian Broadcast Company) (the place linked above) -

Thanks guys. Actually mark In my opinion it really resembles a mixture of the S&H Gran Torino and the Crazy Larry Dirty Marry Charger. Actually Dave if you watch the whole movie, the car goes in out of having the baby moon caps with Joe Don just driving around or visiting his partner at his garage. anyway, I appreciate the intell guys. The stock version would be more than welcome to enter. Nick

Ron what threw me off the 500 beat and path is the lack of chrome, and no vinyl top, hence why I beleived it was a Hardtop. but I wouldn't Doubt a bit it being a 500. Nick -

Pretty good movie, lots of car chases and a pretty good story line, I managed to catch it on a local station late at night. Nick Edit: I'd post some Quotes but there not allowed here anymore -

My Model so far: Base kit ($4 investment) found all required parts Sanded off mold lines and removed window posts marked area's to be filled sanded hood flat Started on Buckets Nick -
Well I started this yesterday about half an hour before my model car club's meeting. Ended up sanding the mold lines off at the meeting, but hey that's half the fun, building with friends . Anyway while talking about my plans for it with Randy Frost I said "I bet you've never seen the movie" Randy replied with "That's a bet you'd lose" turns out that it's a bet I'd win anyway the agenda thus far: Door vents, and Spolier mounts- gotta get filled Hood- has to be sanded flat and a strip added to center Interior- seats have to be sperated into buckets and console stripped and added Real Movie car: Basic idea of the movie: After a wave of unsolved car thefts, an insurance company calls in private investigator Pete Noveck (Joe Don Baker) to solve the case. While the chief of police isn't thrilled about having an outsider come and show up his men, one of the officers is a former girlfriend of Noveck's who's more than willing to help him out in any way she can. After a long and convoluted investigation with false leads, psychics and the mafia, Nobeck at last unravels the identity of the thief.

Well while sitting on the stoop waiting for our club's leader to arrive (late but with good reason) One of my fellow club members gave me these, Ron thought I could use them, his exact words "Thought you'd use them, I've had them for a while now and somebody gave them to me" Time to crack open another Crown Vic I guess

Duplicolor paint / clear question
Nick Winter replied to CEKPETHO BCE's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Andrew, I pretty much use their paint and Clear exclusively in my shop, The best primer I have found is at Canadian Tire it's called "Primer" it comes in grey and red oxide, I also use their Acrylic Enamel Clear, below is a truck that uses the Primer, Perfect match paint, and clear I mentioned. (it dosen't yellow the white, that's my bad photography, as for the roughness, it's a for a timed build) Nick As for the thickness, it goes on pretty well and not thick. And my favourite part if it's metallic or metalflake, the flakes are in scale. Edit: these ones were also done with the above things. -

Did this Monday, lesson learned, don't hold a fresh #11 blade down when installing it. Good news is, I didn't get any blood on my project I was going to BMF Nick

Well I wanted to get my feet wet in the Emergency sector of building, so I dug out one of my Multiple Crown Vic's and started on a Los Angeles Police Department Detectives car, as I was building it I tryed to build it more as what a Sergeant in Auto Theft would have. Something that would 10-36 or 10-37 a car, only to find it 10-99 and end up either 10-51 or end up going Code 3 and 10-80. wow lots of codes. anyway, enjoy. Nick

The Vic is Done. Guess the Good Sergeant has wheels now. one down many to go. Nick

Well with a part time job, school + homework and what ever else life throws at me maybe around 5-7 hours a week during the Spring/Summer/Fall, Winter is more or less around 8-9 hours a week, the fall and summer seem to be my busiest times with My other hobbies (Hunting and Fishing). Always find time If I can especially if I need to relax. Nick That reminds me, I've got parts drying that need collected.

that's correct, that is a Chevrolet Straight Six, and a nicely built one at that, Very Nice build Adam. Nick
