Oldsmobile Hurst 442 Paint
Nick Winter replied to Patrick2005's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Might be red, I know '68 Hurst cars had red 455's. That were Not supposed to be put in the A bodies according to head office. Nick Edit: Olds Div installed them, not Hurst, but they led Head office to beleive that it was Hurst doing the 455 swap. -
Thanks Romell I'll add photo's later of a set I took my time on for a project. Nick

Jim I also wasn't sure and thought that this way people would notice that the trim was removed. I appreciate your kind words. Nick

David you Hammered the Nail right on the head (thank you gramps for that paraphrase), that was the idea of the holes, And Steve, I know the marker lights would have open holes if removed, but they are too tiny for these big hands to remove square, so I just drilled a hole in the center like I've seen on newer cars with flush mount Marker lights. Thanks Guys. Nick

Not sure yet Joe, Gonna stop after work and pickup the New Round2 Release Randy has stashed for me. But the paint scheme will stand. Nick

Have been a bit of a slow builder lately, so I felt that I needed something to just have finished. This poor old Caprice has lived with me since it was first reissued by RC2 and shipped to Dailey Hobbies not long after it opened, I purchased it there around the time that I was first starting out (well I was a year into the hobby), It sat and Sat and SAT, till this year when I realized I would never build it, so I tried trading it off, then Round2 Reissued it, so it gradually donated parts, while getting something out of it the other day, I deceided what to do with it, at Work me and my boss have been body working and preping a truck to be painted, it's a '90 Ford Bronco, naturally we removed all the trim and replaced the rust with new metal, pulled dents, banged out dings and started the priming and filling, so that's where the idea comes from, funny enough the paint also came from work, Thanks to my great boss Doug for the donation. In the near Future I see a finished version of this car (I want the Emergency equipment from that Kit) Paint is Ford Medium Cabernot Solid M6156A and Ford Silver Poly M6349A , both done on my lunch break. '71 Charger Base Hardtop from: '77 movie Speedtrap
Nick Winter replied to Nick Winter's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Not Really. haven't had much of a want to build nor the time it requires, did manage to start and finish a build between yesterday and today at work. Nick -
Like it's been mentioned I did this quickly just to get the point across, in reality when the valve stems are done they should be shorter, but hey I did this in 5 minutes including the time it took to do the pictures, and I don't see anyone else offering to show how to do it Nick
-
This is how I do 1/25th/24th valve stems on wheels. I've simplified this a bit. Tools you'll need: Side/Wire cutters or cutting method of choice, Telephone Wire, a Sharpie, Push Pin or Pin Vice (Push Pin shown for simplicity), and CA/Superglue. Your gonna start by making your hole un an appropriate area, on this type of "Cookie Cutter" Chevy Rallye, that's underneath the Trim Ring. You'll now want to strip the telephone wire, I'm lazy and cracked out the wire strippers. You'll want to blacken it now, you can use a Sharpie. After that you can glue in the whole length and cut to an appropriate length after it's dried, touch up the end, and finish detailing your rim. and it should look something like this. Now what to do with it? Nick

Dosen't have to be stock, just period Correct (ish) Nick

for the S10's look no further then Randy Frost as Perry's Resin, any other S10 X cab's you see floating around are cheap and cruel imitiations of his product, as for the Extended cab 88-98, Quad Cab 88-99 they were done by AAM resin who have been out of business for about 10 years now, not sure about the ranger or newer chev trucks. 1972 Pontiac GTO to LeMans conversion?
Nick Winter replied to Drake69's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Dave up here it was called the "Endura Option" in brochures, this below is a '72 LeMans with the "Endura Option" That is the original paint and is still owned by the original owner, really nice older couple, the husband has owned quite a few nice Pontiacs and loves to talk about them Nick also, it was available on all models (sedans, coupes, wagens) and the T-37. -

little more done, added some Canadian Military markings and blacked them out, added primer spots and also finished the windsheild. why, yes, that is a bullet hole. Nick
