Finally got a start on my second entry, So I'm trying to get this done for a local show in October, I do plan on building it period correct (Ie 1957 or '58), So Far I've used some red oxide to prime it, and have given the engine a coat of paint, I used the red oxide because it agree's with the newer Revell plastic, my grey primer for some reason dosen't seem to like Revell's Styrene. This example is restored Nick

Put the Impala on the side burner for now so I can build this one, I do have a bit of a personal connection to this build, in the 50's my grandfather worked in Toronto with a large Construction Company, they frequently dealth with TMP, who blocked off street they were working on and escorted their equipment. Dave in '92 the Decals were Slanted as per the photo below and I only painted the trim, the rest is just polished plastic. And as for the interior I'm not overly happy with it and probably will remove it, strip it and re-do it. Perhaps in red? And your correct about the Value $5 for the popular colors, which Summit White apparently is not. Jordan, When I said, could well have existed I mean that a Sport with Silverado Trim (IE Chrome parts instead of the painted black.) Dominik, I don't have a set for this truck, and don't wanna rob a set from any of the others I have, but yes it does look a bit naked. As For Kasey, Cranky, Grey and Rodney Thanks. Nick

I've been feeling Nostalgic, Especially after my Great Uncle passed last week, hearing stories of the "Old Days" from friends and family, and watching old home movies and seeing cars with shape and most important a Sound! that dosen't sound like a Summer Breeze when it accelerates. Seeing Fins, Bullet lights And CHROME! But most of all to me, a time when Cars, and Women were shapely and had class, and neither contained more than 40% plastic. So I pulled these guys out, my First Build and a fresh kit of the same release as my first build containing the parts I've located to make it as close as I can, but with my new skills added. So Far we have more detail already, I actually used the kit suspension. And the Steering Works!

Wasn't gonna start this yet but I finished two old builds. Put it back in the box for now, till I finish two more, gonna start my '57 150 Police car tonight.

Well been busy, but I'm moving forward on this one. More to come. Nick Edit: Gotta finish the engine, and I do know about the scratch on the Quarter panel. The shiny spot behind the drivers seat is some clear glue, had to touch up the flocking after a boo-boo -
Priming colored plastic?
Nick Winter replied to rickd13's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
It should, depending on the color you may want to use a barrier coat of some kind (clear coat, future or silver paint works), this car was molded in black. This one was also Black with Orange parts (2 diffrent versions) and this one had a lot of yellow colored plastic Parts For Red, Orange or metallics I reccomend the barrier coat Nick
