  1. Thanks! You have to love that Alclad 2 Chrome!
  2. Wow!the Alclad gloss black primer really produces a mirror finish!
  3. Taped and mounted up the canopy section as well as the jet engines .
  4. I tape 2 sheets of 100 grit sandpaper on a piece of glass and sand the parts in a figure 8 pattern to ensure the parts match up.I installed a laminated piece of plastic through the fuselage to act as a wing spar.Makes for sturdy construction.
  5. Mounted up the wings and engines.Much gappage to deal with.
  6. Broke out the winghalves and joined them together.one strange thing i have noticed while building this kit is the consistent misalignment of parts by about a sixteenth of an inch.New one on me as on previous vac forms the parts fit quite well.I will fix the problems but it is odd,I think each mirror image of half is larger than its counterpart.
  7. Yes most car kits are not a problem even the Johan Turbine and the Revell '57 in my avatar.Aircraft kits are anothr story!
  8. i think it would be cool if you could radius the rear wheel openings llke this '55 slot car.
  9. This vac form 1/72 Contrail HP42 was one of the most difficult kits i have ever built.Very complex.
  10. Looks good man!a lot easier to build than my cardstock Hampden I bet!
  11. Thanks Harry was complaining about my messy workbench so I thought that the dark gray couch would highlight the printed cammo!
  12. Just about done and what a challenge!Made lots of mistakes but learned valuable lessons too!Not bad considering the kit consists of a few sheets of flat color cut outs. The plastic parts from the Revell Beaufighter really enhance it!
  13. Cut out and installed the top turret.the guns are small diameter aluminum tubing.
  14. Very nice!can you post a pic of the underside?I would like to see those large white exhaust ducts!
  15. The kit does not include engine cylinder detail so I scanned the plastic engine with my printer.Very low rez but better than nothing.
  16. Mounted up the landing gear. The right prop looks off center because I just threw it on for the photo. It will be aligned properly when done.
  17. YEs I have been told on the paper models website that this kit is poorly designed and a bad choice for a first paper model.I will finish it however despite its many flaws..If I decide to build another paper model I will ask for advIce on the site so that I purchase a properly designed kit.
  18. Test fitting the props from an old Bristol Beaufighter I had in my stash.Proprtions look good!
  19. Yes the kit includes thin paper strips that will hopefully frame the canopy better.
