Central Florida clubs or shows??
B_rad88 replied to Doug McCabe's topic in Model Club News and Announcements
i like that idea, that would prob work better since we are all spread out down here, lol. -
i got a monogram bugatti eb110, and im affraid to build it, a good friend gave it to me. i have read and looked at pics of the horror stories about building that kit, and since my skillz aren't up to par, im not going to touch it right now. im also kinda iffy on touching my fujimi enthusiast porsche 356b/c 2000gts hardtop i have, it looks very complex. there is several other grail kits i want, but iffy on building them when(IF) i get them..........

well i live in merritt island, on the east coast(i can watch the shuttles take off from my front yard, lol), but im moving to cape canaveral(close to the cruise ships) about 10miles east of my current location(roughly 2 blocks from the beach!!!!!!!)........ i have meet jim when we helped out lyn with her models in storage, lol, that was a fun day! got some cool kits for helping out, awsomeness, lol. i would love to be in a club/show, but with everything thats been going on..... i barely have time for my self, let alone building and traveling....... ugh........ i can only wish right now, i'll keep an eye on this thread to see how things go. lol, me niehter, i really don't like social networking. LOL -
well i don't plan to, my nikko was given to me, and i was just curious about it. lol, yep, and its not me! lol. and i heard mini-z and dnano are really good r/c's, but very expensive...... thats why i have my xmods, lol.
-
LOL, i think you could be the class clown, LOL just messin witcha. and i know, you wasn't to harsh, just being honest, i understand. and this one nikko landshark i have works just fine, i just never fully tested it. i drove it in some really super soft sand, pebbles, ect. and it worked fine, so maybe mine is one of only a few that works, lol.
-
ok, well i knew that about evilbay, i just wasn't sure if it was or not and i don't really have much interest in it, i have one and i don't really want it, thats why i was asking. i like xmods and thats prob the only r/c i'll stick too.
-
ok, well i have read its anywhere from 10-15 years old, and that was on a forum dated 2004 when i just looked on google, but like i said im not sure about it, the only r/c's i got into was the xmods.

well today is my birthday, i didn't get any plastics or any model kits, witch is ok with me since im in the process of moving, but i did get this: X-acto no.73 deluxe pit kit (for tabletop racing cars) the only info i found on it was it was in a dec. 1962 mag forsale at $4.95! so i don't even know how old it is, or anything. its all original, and also a bonus old compass and lead tin that came in the kit (witch is not part of it, i know, but its still cool) i thought i'd show off my cool old gift. and if anyone has any info on it, please pm me, thanks!

NACA air duct......... need help......
B_rad88 replied to B_rad88's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
thank you, it was a project that was supposed to be for the "drift car" build off, but sadly it was stalled for this very reason why im posting this thread, i didn't know how to make the duct. also i don't have the proper decals i need to finish the body.......... but i have been thinking of bring it back out of the stalled stack and working on it a little bit. This is what i am/was tring to replicate: TWR Jaguar XJ220: yes i know there is alot of work. im using the AMT/ERTL jaguar xj220 model kit (YES, i know this is the bad one of the 2 kits, but i didn't want to mess up my tamiya jaguar xj220 for this yet!) here is my kit: My AMT TWR Jaguar XJ220 DRIFT CAR follow the link, thats what has been done so far to it before it stalled. -
NACA air duct......... need help......
B_rad88 replied to B_rad88's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
ok, i got the general idea on it now, thank you jairus very much! and when i had looked for naca ducts on google it gave me the "side window vents" with the opening for tubing to attach too, (like this http://www.gmpracingproducts.com.au/i/products/window-ducts/misc/NACA-Double-Ducts.JPG ) but i know thats wrong for what im tring to do. and hum, didn't think of making a new window for it.......... i do have scrap plastic from kid toys, ect. but i think its to thin........ idk. thank you for that tip, after tring on some scrap first, i'll see how this goes, and then go from there....... hopefully. -
NACA air duct......... need help......
B_rad88 replied to B_rad88's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
and i thank you for the tips, but yes i normally don't like going out of my confort zone, lol. i'll give it a try on scrap material, but just unsure still, i'll never know till i try it, and as far as the bottom of the duct(inside) i dunno about it, cause i don't have better pics of the jag race car's duct. so thats a random guess, yours is as good as mine on how the inside looks.......... and about making my own machine, i have no money, no time, and im in the process of moving, so i have no place to make it anyways........ thank you for the tips, i do greatly appricate it, i will give it a try in scrape material, or something. thank you, Brandon -
NACA air duct......... need help......
B_rad88 replied to B_rad88's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
thank you jairus for the tip, but 1. i don't own or have access to a vacuform machine or anything like it, also 2. my problem is still cutting the plastic, im not sure on how to go about it, since i have only 1 window, i don't want to mess it up badly. if you catch my drift. i also have no other detailed pics of the window with the duct, like inside of the window, or other views, those 3 pics is what i got to go from, so measurements, position, ect. im so not sure about, so its like guessing in the wind. -
hey guys, um i need a bit of help with performing plastic surgery on a window............ im tring(well atleast i hope i can) to make a naca style air duct in the engine cover window of a jaguar xj220....... here are some pics of what im tring to replicate: my concern is making the cut into the window, and making it look proper. can anyone shed some how-to's on this please? Thank You!

The Most Dangerous Car You've Ever Owned
B_rad88 replied to David G.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
wow some interesting stories, lol. well................................ i may have one of a junky car and inexperienced driver............................................ ok, first off it was my 1994 geo metro 5door wagon, 3cyl, automatic......... i had lightened it from 1800lbs to about 1750ish, taking out all the useless plastic panels, ect., ect., ect. then after that, i had to replace the water pump and radiator, both was leaking, so i had my nieghbor help me out with it, no problem, but when working on the car, i found really bad chassis damage, so the car had to be wrecked before i got it. plus the right rear strut was shot, the drivers window had a hard time staying in track, all the door handles broke, the radio intenna broke off, so nothing came on the jamz box, also the brakes where really weak, i mean weak! and then i some how messed up the electrical on it, and it kept blowing batteries and altenators, but in the middle off all this i had fun with the car, and i have alot of happy memories with it, lol. like the one time i put it up on 2 wheels, it was 4ppl with me in the geo, i was driving, and i went around a hard s-curve it went up on 2 wheels, when i put it back down, my friend in the back seat started screaming like a little girl, it was so funny we all busted out laughing, i never heard him scream like that, , and plus all the burn outs i did in it just for fun, like in the publix parking lot, the pavement is very slippery when wet, so when i drop it into low gear(its an auto) i floor it, and the tires just spin away, lol. you have to manualy shift the thing to get it to move, otherwise you'll do 0-60 in about 3weeks, lol . that was also my first car i have owned, and i do miss driving it, i would love to get another,
