    I did that on my '81 Caddy model for the vinyl roof section. A semi-gloss looks perfect, just like a freshly armor-alled vinyl top! I sprayed from a normal distance (about a foot away, +/- a few inches or so), and went really heavy with the paint, but made several quick passes. Each coat didnt have full coverage, so you can get just the right texture depending on your technique.
