Hobby Shops Closing ?
Aaron Ingles replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
With online ordering that has anything you want and quick shipping I could see why most hobby stores are hurting. There's a decently stocked, but very expensive hobby store 60 miles from here. With the cost of gas here to go back and forth it's just cheaper to order it online and pay shipping unless I really need it now. I'd love to support the local guy, but it doesn't really exist. -
For the life of me I don't understand Round 2s decision making. They work to get a spot in the toy department in Walmart and put kits and cars that are older than the kids grandparents. The Walmart here a few years ago got almost all the same kits and they almost all ended up in the $2 clearance bin. We've got a few recent college grads in our department now and they think cars from the 90s are ancient history

Thanks guys. The Ferrari is the Hasegawa '76 312T Brazilian GP and the Aston is the Tamiya DBS kit.

Thanks guys! The 917 is the Fujimi kit with Indycals decals since the originals were toast. The only issue I had was mating the top of the body to the bottom which required copious amounts of glue, clamps, and tape. Ironically in the last decade or more I haven't built many kits. With the rona and WFH has seen a dramatic resurgence in building again. I think I built 3 or 4 last year and then I'd probably have to go back to 2012 for the previous one.
