Back to School
Kostas Parchas replied to mackinac359's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Nicely done trailer Tim, a great idea for a build, not just a trailer, not part of a huge transportation fleet but jut a school driving, thats cool!!! About thet truck, I am not familiar with those ol cabovers, but if you haven't mensioned before, when I first saw it I thought it was an old kit, or a resin transkit, but not a reworked KW cab. Once again I am speechless with the art in you pictures, the fourth picture, truck and trailer passing the highway with the sunlight on the side, look at the marker lights on the roof of the truck... lights are ON!!!! White Road Boss

Nice ol' Boss, I like the paint theme, nicely done!!! Kostas. -
When Italeri's guys designed this kit, they had in mind how they could earn more money without spendnig much and then, they thought that the Westernstar could be a very nice kit with an ecxelent theme as a wrecker of the LAFD. They were right it is a nice kit BUT, before they procced to the production they never thought to test fit all the parts and the result is that the cab and (freightliner 36'') sleeper are not fiting corect. The roof of the cab is much higher than the sleeper. Please follow the link below to see what I mean. http://www.wettringer-modellbauforum.de/forum/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=21506 The member of that forum nick named CarandTruck-Fan had build the model and he did a very nice job, his model is very nice and very well pictured but this model is not corect and thats not because of a mistace of the builder, but because a mistace that Italeri did. That makes me angry, Italeri should invest a day cab panel for this, or they even could use a western star cab. Kostas.

1976 Ford LTL9000 in progress
Kostas Parchas replied to Ben's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I like very much what I see here. You did an ecxelent work on the hood and your friends paint job improves it. And now the questions, is this hood 1/24 or 1/25? It would be really nice if it could fit the Italeri's FORD LTL9000. Will you also send your chassis to Eric to be casted in resin??? Kostas. -
Matador88 hi, I have the recker kit and I am planing to get 4 or 5 kits more in the future. The LTL 9000 is the best looking FORD truck for me. As Tim said, buy the kit and don't use the wrecker body. The kit contains everything you need to build it as a long distance trackor. It will have the 36'' sleeper but you can build it also as a day cab by using resin daycab panel, or with a biger speelper by using the 60'' sleeper of the Freightliner FLD 120 kit. As about the wrecker body, don't worry about it, Italeri parts likr the wrecker body, are designed to be used on several models, so you can use the wrecker body on another truck, either on US or EU truck. If you searche the web, you will found many fine examples of models (SCANIAs, VOLVOs, DAFs, MERCEDES, MANs, MACKs, PETERBILTs, KENWORTHs) with this wrecker body. Greetings, Kostas.

Kostas Parchas replied to Chad's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Nice trucks and superb Peterbilts you have there! I like very much the Italeri 48ft trailer hooked on the Lonestar. It is inacurate for 1/24 trucks buck hooked on the Lonestar looks somehow good.... Kostas. -

Kostas Parchas replied to Hessel Hemstra's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Hessel hi, I like very much, both your Peterbilt 386 & trailer. Is the trailer 48ft or 53ft long? Are you selling this trailer as a kit? I am interested to purchase one kit of your step deck trailer, it looks fantastic!!! Greetings, Kostas. -

I am watching this forum too, long time ago. I should be a member there too but I am not dare because I am not speacking German. There are many skilled modelers with great builds both of US / EU trucks. What I love there also is that there are seperate sections of in_progress builds, US trucks gallery & of course EU trucks gallery and for the friends of fire engines, farm equipment there is also a seperate section. Also a few lines below there is a section about kits from all makes with detailed pictures of whats_in_the_box etc. Grettings, Kostas.
