  1. Thank you again guys!!! @Raul_Perez, Yep, a lot of paint because I had a little problem with it... I probably paint it 20 times... It was make me crazy!!! @RJWood, The doors and hood are working, also you can remove part of the hood. I glued a piece of chromed plastic for keep the hood and doors open. The idea of doing this kind of doors and hood a the beginning was because it looks like my doog's ears. But after the paint problem I changed my mind, so the doors are kind of wings, for all the time I though to trow it out of the window!!! Rayan S., BMF??? Zero... CrazyJim, the trailer it is a project, and it is still in my mind... I don't know if I'll start to build it, I need a vacation after the truck!!!
  2. Thank you guys!!! @MikeMC, I was planning to build the trailer too, but I'll put in in "wait" for now... @Dave, You're welcome and toooo gentle!!! I forgot to bring you one things remind me! @HarryP., For safety I didn't put the driver train on it... @CrazyJim, It dosn't look that it scraping the ground, It is totally scraping the ground... I was thinking how much excited I was when I bought it a one swap meet, and the same night went back home and looking a the ocean I start to put some ink on a paper, some lines, the front fender...
  3. I was looking to some lovely retro style in this model, between a old car and a Streamliner train and put all in a AMT Peterbilt 359. About the kit, I didn't used too many part from it, cab, chassis, engine, steering wheels and dashboard, the rest it is all scratch-build. A lot of fun wit it, and also some bad moment, because of paint problem... But a the end I can say that I'm happy with it... Some pics... Thank you for looking!!! Thanks to Trehugger for the name suggestion! LOVE IT!!!
  4. Ok thanks! And which model is?
  5. A member of the model club I belong, gave to me this truck. He said that was a kit that he bought when he was working at Freightliner. Which truck is and where I can find info about it? He told me the model, but I forgot...
  6. What I can tell you... I love old stuff!!!
  7. Thank you!!! Probably in the future I'll scratch-build a trailer for it too... But I need space for it.

  15. Thank you!!! I started in November, probably the 9th... But I had so many problem with it, related to the paint... That toke me to build it a lot of time... After I put it back in the box and leave it for a while and build other stuff... Like the 71 Hemster Cuda (on Under Glass). After I went back on it, and finish it... The huge works was for the fender, that looks simple to build but required a lot of works. But I had also a lot of fun doing it... From the AMT kit I used cab, part of the sleeper and hood, engine, radiator, air and oil filter, chassis, dashboard and steering wheels. The rest it is all scratch-build... I just realized that for build it I used 2 and something of Bondo putty (1.5OZ each) and almost two Superglue 0.35OZ!!!
  16. [quote name='Plastic Freak' date='08 January 2010 - 11:58 AM' timestamp='1262980689' post='251751' I wish more builders would go the custom rout with these big trucks.

  22. After painting-sanding-painting who knows how many time... And thinking until this morning to trow it away, I complete it... I can't believe it!!! It is not perfect, because the paint/sand/paint time, but I'm happy with it and now I can enjoy it... I can say also that I used it as a test, for some stuff that I had in my mind, and could works for other models. I love the kind of retro stile on it mixed with modern... Basically, from the AMT kit I used only the cab, hood and part from the sleeper, chassis, engine, steering wheels, dashboard... The rest is scratch build. Before start the model I stretched 4 inches the chassis, hood also was stretched and the sleeper too, and put with the cab... The hood and door, I prefer make them open like 2 wing, because of the many time I though to trow it out of the window... Door and hood can open and close, but I glue a piece of chrome plastic to keep them open, so help to see the inside. Will see what Chuck say about his ex 359... Some pics... I also can remove part of the hood... Kind of hot rod... Thank you for looking!!!
