Thats gonna be a great ride. Is that maybe an OPI color? its beautiful whatever it is!
-
what do you mean "wet coat"? I realize this may be a REALLY dumb question lol, but i was curious
-
that is gonna be one sweet hauler Jim. I actually saw almost that exact setup in town the other day. Keep us posted!

Can I primer my models with Krylon primer or will it eat through the plastic?
-
Hey thats a great idea! I too am in a wheelchair and constantly losing those really small parts. I'll have to use your idea!
-
ok, so i tried to read the questions lately on primer and i got confused. can i just use flat grey paint as a primer?
-
i got a new model and...

hey bud, thanks for the heads up. It looks pretty simple, but i will take my time lol. thanks again -
Ok so i picked up the 1/24 scale 1969 duster "cop out" dragster. its a "basic builder", so it should be a pretty easy quick build. Its also molded in black. My question is, in order to paint certain parts of it, do i need to sand and primer it down before i paint the body?
-
have you used it? does it work? and we're talkin the rattle can stuff
-
OK instead of starting a new question, and hopefully to avoid the debacle of the last question, although some of you DID manage to stay on topic, I'll just post another one in a reply. My can of air I am using UNTIL I CAN AFFORD A COMPRESSOR, freezes a lot and does not apply paint to my model. I know this can't be good for the car. What can i do to alleviate the frozen air?
-
hey foxer, thanks for trying to steer people back on track lol. i kept reading all the responses and was thinkin "thats not what i asked!". thanks again
-
Ok I know i should have a compressor by now, but I just dont have the money yet. For now, i use airbrush propellant. My question is, for those of you who use canned air, what is the best brand? I currently have "badger propel" that i bought at Michaels craft store. Is there any brand that is better than the other, until i can afford my compressor?
-
Boy, that is one CLEAN engine! Keep us posted on the progress and great job!

I have an airbrush, of which i can't remember the brand. I bought it at a hobby shop for like $40. I know, its a cheapy but its my first one. I do definitely plan to upgrade in the future when the economy comes out of the dumpster, and i get myself...well....a job. Ok so here's my question. With my cheapy airbrush, the paint has a tendency to clog in the bottle. Can I put a drop or two of thinner in there, just to loosen up the paint and let it flow through the pickup tube easier? any tips on this? And while im here, has anyone used the "markers" that testors has out? are they worth anything? what have you used them on. Thanks in advance.

Michael Jackson dead at 50
hellonwheelz3 replied to Custom Hearse's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Michael Jackson was awfully strange, and at times just gross, but he was a person and one helluva entertainer. He will be missed. God rest his soul. -

hellonwheelz3 replied to hellonwheelz3's topic in Model Club News and Announcements
I live in Bend, Oregon. Im guessing from your reply that you are in Oregon also? correct me if I'm wrong lol -
Does anyone know of a model car club in the pacific Northwest? I live in Central Oregon and am interested in getting into something like this. Also, are there amy members from Oregon or Washington?
-
Well for all the problems you say you had, that sure turned out nice! And if you pictured that as your own ride, you got good taste bud! Great Job!!

Okay, so im building a 1/25th scale boss 429 3'n'1. Im doing it street style. I was working on it earlier this evening and accidentally cracked the windshield. I dont want to place this windshield cuz it would look bad. Question is, should i buy a new windshield for it or make a window net? the window net would work cuz im doing it racecar style. I also would need to know how to scratchbuild a window net. Thanks for the enormous amounts of help!

i know this is the "new kit review" section, but I thought i'd throw this out anyway. Has anyone done the MPC '53 ford flipnose pickup? was it a good kit? I did one similar to this and had to pitch it because the kit, made by revell, was HORRIBLE. nothing fit right!

Ok i've seen this alot in the "on the workbench" section. When guys are doing body work, they use some kind of red stuff on the bodies? what is that and what is it used for? just trying to learn all i can about different products. thanks again!

what music inspires you to build what
hellonwheelz3 replied to evilone's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I dont usually listen to music when im building my models. Some of you might find this weird, but i have a police scanner that i listen to while building my models. Right now i am in the middle of building a 69 boss mustang and a 69 dodge superbird. These just happen to so far be the best builds i've ever had, so maybe i stumbled on to something?! lol -
It's a great ride either way, but i would say if you're going to chop it, do it minimally. keep us posted!
-
Nice work Jim! that is one sweet hot rod! And if you dont mind, i think im gonna use the idea of the two-tone seats. Myself, I am painting a 69 chevy mustang. great work!

ok i've noticed a lot of guys using grey primer for a base coat? is there a benefit to using flat grey instead of the white or many other primer colors? thanks guys (and any ladies) for all the help ya'll have been giving this newbie!
