Even if it is styrene you might be SOL if it is an original promo, I have never had any luck with them and have tried all the methods to correct.

The plastic is not effected? It looks crazed in the pics.

Looks like the plastic is effected as well I would just buy another kit and start fresh with some dupli color primer and save yourself a lot of work.

You should have went with brass freeze plugs, those metal ones will rust thru lol!!!

If you have alot of shipping volume you can get a Discount on shipping charges. The good thing about the discount is any joe schmoe can go to FedEx or UPS.com and get a quote and that will be what you are charged but most people are not aware of the discounting companies get. I set up a discount up with the Company I work for thru FedEx, so yes it would be easy to profit from shipping charges. Jason.

Yup $45.00 total!! The guy wanted $25.00 each and I tried to get them for $40.00 total and we settled with $45.00.

Filling the door seams would be inaccurate. The doors on stock cars were not sealed smooth until the late 70's I think I'm pretty sure the doors had to still open during this vintage even though they did not use them.

Well I'm by no means a collector but both are pretty much the same kit so I might ebay one and build the other. Still not sure on that though.

Yesterday at the fleamarket I scooped up a Petty superbird original issue mint unbuilt and a mint Sox & Martin superbird!! Both boxes are in outstanding shape and I only paid $45.00 for both total!! I will post pics later on tonight.

Auto shack is now Auto Zone, that is pretty neat to see!!
