Good news ! I recieved the model I ordered from (thank you) Randy . I think it was worth the wait . The casting is way better . It is thinner than I saw previousley and didn't buy . It was a money issue then . I had saved for this one . It is thin as an injected kit . No flaws and no putty needed . The new molds do a better job . Thanx..

I did too notice and surgicly removed the "Also Ran" and placed in a pile . I then stole another 1/24 real Fo Mo Co powerplant . There were a couple of other issues to finish this one . You made it just right . Thank you for sharing

I wish it was . MWC offers a '51 Sedan . It has a longer roof . I think TKMs is the same long roof sedan . This kit represented a business coupe with a shorter roof . The '49 and '50 had different rear fenders with belting . A typical shifting of trim and a slight grille change were the visual differences . I believe the '51 & '52 MYs had 1/4 panels instead the fenders on the rear of the body . Please correct me if I am wrong . I thank you for your offer , I do appreciate it . Help ...and thanx..

I am at a loss . I spotted a '50 Chevy what looks to be a business coupe in resin and lost track of it . I know of the TKM , not the same as it had seperate bumpers , grille . Also , did not have a galvinized metal chassis ect. included in the kit as TKM. this was on Evilbait and i lost in the overspend wars as I refused to pay more than I had planned . Ehen you are on a fixed income you tend to bid carefully . Thanx for your help ..

Hi , yes I heard from Randy . He is still in business . Sorry about the double posting . I didn't see it yesterday the short itme I was on . My purchase is about done . I think I was wrong about Feburary . Randy , being the gentleman did not take issue with the date . He assured me by explaining the probhlem with the mold for what I wanted . My problem is , I cannot contact him . The IP addresses I have come back as wrong . Anyone know how to do that ? Please excuse the false alarm . Thanx ..

Removing paint from resin body
dimaxion replied to asco's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I agree almost totally with you . I take exception with the oven cleaner . I am afraid to use it on resin . Is this a workable solution ? I soak my failed finishes in Formula 409 . I aviod the dangerous fumes as a bonus . I then remove stubborn clingy parts with Lacquer thinner and a Q-tip or rag . I found this tip recently and it works well . I would be afraid to soak a resin in it though . It this possible also . I am kinda stuck in my ways . The "purple bath" apperently works . I've been seeing that solution hailed as excellent for a few years now . As always , test on a conspiciuos area or junk part before commitring a costly prime project to possible extinction . Another cause for this lifting on your finish could be mold release . Did you soak the project in Whestly's overnight ? Then soap (without lanolin) and water wash . Thanx ..I hope this helps .. -
Anyone out there heard from Perry's Resin ? I sent for something in Feburary and have sent Emails . No response ? Is he still in business ? Help ! Thanx ..

I like your Stude Mr Obsessive . I don't see a thing wrong other than some lost parts . I totally agree of the lack of ''57-'61 Hawks . Those fins are right on . How did you make them . I have some AMT boat kits to make some part of those fins . BTW , the Hendrix Stude pillared sedan is a '53 . The '54 has a larger grille openings and a different grille . Art Anderson , AAM casted an excellent '54 Connestoga Wagon . He did point out to me the differences in the day . Once again , thank you Art . Anyone out there casting a '54 & 55 Grilles . I bought a replated '55 from Evilbait . The pic was not too clear . When I got it it was a '56 . Anyone need a freshly plated Promo '56 Bumper Grille ? Thanx..

The Merak was produced for fuel exconomy . It lost 6 cylinders and overall lenght & weight from the Bora . The target was more milage for the buyers . This issue was very important at that time . It may also was built to avoid Gas Guzzler Taxes . It improved the CAFE of this Super Car Manufacturer . Maybe this particular car mentioned had 83 HP left in it's well worn powerplant . Very well done rendition of a fuel economy champ . I like what you did to this minimalist kit . Thanx..

I agree , Black is hard to do . But , any painter 1:1 will tell you any tiny flaw in the areas covered in Black Paint will be a Major Flaw . Resulting in just jumping out at you when finished . Nice Pontiac . Don't let the work stop you . Look at the finished project . Very rewarding is my opinion . BTW , white covers flaws and hides them . Thanx..

I owned a converteble '65 Mustang . At the Drive In Movies these Nashes outnumbered my ride by a good margin . The interiors had fold down seats to avail the whole family space to sleep in . No need for a Motel with a Nash . These seats were engineered to be a flat surface from front to back . How's that for Nostalga ?? Thanx..

Modelhaus kit , rattle can light blue (spring color) , mixed enamels dark blue to match color chip for Airbrush . Clearcoated and rubbed , polished . The interior is sprayed with suede rattle can and overcoated with appropriatc flat grey for the Fabric look . Thanx..

Nice build . Have you thought of trying Tamaya clear blue arcrylic ? Thin down with windshield washer cleaner or window cleaner . Spray in thin applications and do one section at a time , leaving the area just done to "tack up" before moving on to the next section . This will advoid pools . Many coats and much patience . Good luck . Keep them coming ...Thanx..

Nice Corvette . Well done . Where are the keys ? Don't change the rear tread width . If you look at a 1:1 Corvette , you will see the kit is close to actual . The rear tread width is always wider in the front for better steering . My Opinion stated so ...Thanx..

Modelhaus Kit . The paint was mixed for my Airbrush to match a Tucket at the Auburn Museum at the time of the build . Thanx..

Did you try MCW ? He does have access to some Import Color Formulas . Thanx..
