  1. I go for real . The cargo hook gives it away . Those scared me when I hauled cars . One hook welded to a single piece of sheet metal ..shiver . Japaneese Sheet Metal at that . Thanx..
  2. The Holthouses are great people . Yes , they show up at the Shows with a plie of goodies they think will sell . I do believe they hit the mark more than they miss it . It is much easier to sell out and take home empty containers and money instead of unsold stuff . Most of the vendors will do the same . Yes , contact them prior and they will have it . Most vendors will do so . Especially when they get to know you . Just don't leave them high and dry . I checked the other day ; <rocketfin.com/model_car_links> . Scroll down to Model car links . On the list , click Modelhaus . Thanx
  3. This Stud is rightous . I remember a Hot '53 Coupe similar to this in the '50's . It was really hot . Nice job on this . Thanx..
  4. You are right , not my cup of tea . This Lowrider is outstanding from the crowd by what you did . Well done . Keep them coming . Especially as exceptional as this ...Thanx..
  5. I vote real . The many details I see in the photo are way more than a modeler would duplicate . I will have to see "The answer FRIDAY!" . Thanx..
  6. Ouch , Harry you fooled me . Another chance next week . Thanx..
  7. "Whers's the keys ?" That is one terrific model. Well done . Thanx..

    Camaro 70

"where's the keys' ? Well done project . A sleeper Camero Z . No stripes and all the funds spent on go fast and not appearance . Thanx..
  9. This is for sure a model . It has "this is an automatic pullover and probable cause" if it were 1:1 . Maybe a "Trailer Queen" . I doubt it . I am awake Harry ..
  10. This is a case of appreciation . This car was wowed and hotley desired when the 3 or 5 were handbuilt . Pierce Arrow just couldn't make these into production . Neither did the Ruxton . Compare it to contempary vehicles . It was sensational . Up into the early '60's this car (the few that remained from the few that were made) fit in with vehicles of the day . Maybe stood out from the crowd with the tall wheels/tires . Then came the Magnificent Turkey . It wowed them too . Then the Auburn 851 Supercharged , wow ! Then the Cord 810 & 812 , another wower or two . All this in your conception of what you are looking at . I enjoy this car and the others I mentioned . Thank you Harry Thanx ..
  11. To do the body and resin parts , soak in Whestleys Whitewall cleaner . At least a few hours . I soak about 24 hours . Unless I forget , if so who knows ?? I wash all with Ivory dish Soap . It does not contain lanolin for the skin on your hands . Do all the sanding and fixing before this next step . I apply Adhesion Promotor . Found where you see Auto Paints . It is for the flexible Car Parts . Basiclly the same stuff you are working with . I then Primer and sand with 600 or 100 or 1200 very lightly . It depends on which I find . I then apply Primer Sealer . Follow the directions carefully for both the Adhesion Promoter and Sealer , they all differ . I proceed with the color coats . I Clear Cote after two weeks to let the color thinners evaporate befor the clear . I then leave it alone for a month or so and apply Poilsh or Cleaner Wax . Cleaner wax is to remove any Orange Peel or dust . I hope this helps . This method works for me . It took decades to finalize and perfect . Thanx..
  12. I agree with Mr. Obsessive . It will not soon appear in plastic period . I am currently waiting on the arrival of the Volvo P 1800 and the Ford Cortina . I saved the money for months . It cost me considerably less now as when I started in Nov. last year . I know the quality of their products . I anticapate the same as I have already . This is a word of mouth endorsment . Thanx..
  13. This one is a model too . That is my vote and I'm sticking to it . I am catching on Harry . I just appreciate the challenge . Yes , the wheels are totally off . Thanx..
  14. Caution , I never paint anything resin without Adhesion Bonder for Plastic under all paint . This is available almost anywhere primers are sold . It is ment to be placed as the first primer on flexible body parts for a vehicle . It is the first primer . I didn't when I was starting with foiling chrome on projects I was building . I removed excess foil and lifted irreplaceable (the exact match color) patches of the finish , down to the substrate resin . Yes I do soak in Whesleys . I did every resin since the first back in the day . I am now confronted with another removed portions of a failed paint job after removing the masking for trim . This was another perfect finish from a long ago project . This is my year to finish stalled projects . I am going to try decanting and touch uo . A new experiance for me . Experiance will teach you the right amount of time and what materails you should use . This is what is refered to as a learning curve . Thanx..
  15. The paint is flawless . Don't give up . The contest winning finishes are in your future . Your color breaks (for the two toning) are clean . The coverage is complete . Check on painting tips for the award winning finishes you seek . Your model is original and excellent finished project . Keep on modeling . We appreciate you here . Thanx..
  16. I just missed out on a 1:1 brand new Special Order '68 Fairlane with a fogged custom paint job (from the factory) very similar to this . Outstanding model . Well done especially the Paint . Are those weld star wheels on this car ? Fits this model and your theme well . Thanx..
  17. This Aussie Falcon is a very nice Model . Thank you Harry for your weekly ROMs . I do look forward to making intellegent decisions after your posts . I am getting better at being right . Thanx ..
  18. This is most certainly a model . Thanx..
  19. Harry , all I get is the Dreaded red X's ..Thanx ..
  20. MCW has in the works a '66 Dodge Cornet to fit the '67 Revelle GTX & '67 Cornet . Look for it soon . Thanx..
  21. New Departure was the cooperative merger of G M & Chrysler drive train compenents . It was fractured in the early '90's . I don't know when it started . I just remember having to find when and who made the drive units when I had to fix either Chrysler or G M units in the Chrysler Dealership I turned wrenches for . Thanx..
  22. I must vote real on this . I have my reasons . Thank you Harry ..
  23. The E400 is in the AMT Edsel kit . It is the new (at the time) FE Engine . The E 475 was a big block Lincoln maxed out . The Lincoln had less power and torque . It was an existing design of the first design OHV Lincolns . The next year , the E475 was gone but available in the Thunderbirds . Tuned down also . This Rod is very cool depicting this appropiate power plant . The Ford guys always claimed the E 400 was an regular 332 or 352 . Allot like the Chevy guys claimed the 327 was a 283 . I do like this very cool rod . Thanx..
  24. I vote model . The reflection in the trim rings does it for me . Thank you Harry . Thanx..

I don't want to put anyone down . I have watched hoods rust thruogh . On a hood a scratch in a small dent left go without touchup paint for years will shurley do so . I had to repair a two and 1/2 year Pontiac roof due to rust out . It happened right at the shape change from flat top to vertical 2 " above where the rain gutter wasn't . This was GM way to cut assembly costs at the expense of the consumer once again . The windows , both front and rear were also gone . BTW , not a vinyl roof . Along with not coating non exposed sheet metal with anything . This was a late '73 Pontiac in 1975 . Did you ever wander why GM cultiveted Japaneese sales ? Sorry about my rant . Excellent build . Thanx..This jogged memories .
