  1. Mmm Muleskinner There was a barber shop in Bellingham, WA years ago that had a photo story of Rod Grey on the wall and he did have a Mack that they winched up to the landing and then cabled down. Rod also went to Washington D.C. with a 3 log load on his last truck in about 1973 or when ever the fuel crisis started. I believe that he was in his late 80's then. I keep looking for some of those pictures to show up especially on Hank's forum but have never seen any. Just after the war, Rod had a fleet of Mack loggers that were green with black fenders. If his wife caught one going down the road dirty, she would stop them and make them wipe it clean. Mike
  2. I think the very first Mack to be used in the woods was RE "Rod" Grey in Bellingham, Washington and later years he lived in Sedro Wooley, WA
  3. Been on here since last July and just thought that I would say howdy. Model building is on hold at the moment as we are building a new toy room for me and it takes some time and then to get all of them out of storage and start again.

  4. I don't know if Transcon Lines ever used Dodge L700 tractors or not, but my Dodge is based loosly (very loosly) on a Kenworth Bullnose I found on Hank's Truck Pictures. You know what. I don't know if they ever used the Dodge either but looking at your model makes me think that I saw one in real life. Very nice job! Mike
  5. I also noticed the stinger for the log trailer. Most modelers miss this item. Nice! Mike
  6. Very nice unit. What did you use for the logs? Must be some kind of small brush from your area. Mike
  7. But I call you "V" on the other board, B&D that is. Mike
  8. The cab is painted with Testors Fiery Orange and then clear coated. Mike
  9. Dan! You're everywhere. Back to work on that truck crane. I might add that I met Dan at a model club meeting in Bend, Oregon a few years ago and he is one of people that got me re-interested in models. It just took me a while to get started again. Mike
  10. Yes I do Tim, but I was painting the cab to box art and the red bled so I put it in the purple tank. Been busy posting pictures all summer long on my Fotki site and will return to the models soon. I went back and looked and I have been on your site many times and know the history but how could you tell that the model behind the 359 was a 352? Mike
  11. I drove the big rigs for 40 years and didn't really have time for anything else but recently got into modeling after a 45 year absence. I have built a 359 Pete, Fruehauf trailer and a Peerless log trailer. Take a look. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
