  1. Appears to be an early '50's model. If you would like to build one you should start with a T500 California Hauler kit. Mike
  2. Nice build and weathering and it appears that Pebbles is all grown up in Bedrock. Mike
  3. Trick my Mixer. I have relatives in Darrington as well. Been there once in the '90's to find my cousin had passed in a logging accident. Hadn't been there prior to that in thre '50's. Mike Terry, We'll have to get together some day. I have been retired over 16 years. Mike

  5. Terry; I'm from Washington State as well and live in Apache Junction, AZ. Was in your area a week ago at Cochran, a ghost town and the Ripsey Mine. Been building trucks since I retired from trucking. Mike at Tuff Tin
  6. This swap may seem odd but after the war, a lot of trucks were re-powered with flathead Ford tank engines. They were gas powered and could hall butt. Mike
  7. These are pretty cool rigs and the only place I have seen them is in Nevada. They are transfer dumps. The second box works normally and you back over the tongue and pull the box into your truck box and reverse it when empty and then go to the back one which is setting on the frame backwards and pick it from the rear. Mike
  8. Showbuilder; Are you going to make any tires and wheels for sale? Mike
  9. From time to time, someone sells long frame rails on E-bay or.......... you can use Evergreen #350 for the side rails and #346 for the top and bottom and build your own. Mike
  10. That is strange as the only ones I had ever seen were black including a pile of them at a Mack Dealer in Minnesota and a KW I drove. Mike
  11. I remember the build on this. What a super finish you got. I have not seen a better paint job. You need to show more "finished" pics. Mike
  12. It'll be a while for completion as it's just a fill-in between other projects. Mike
  13. This is what happens when you get bored and are hung up on a couple of projects. I cut basswood to scale and glued it into my Great Dane. Hosted on Fotki Then I detailed the nose and rear doors a bit................ Hosted on Fotki
  14. Yes! The AMT W-925 and the AMT Peerless "Roadrunner" Log Trailer. Mike
  15. How about black and white? Hosted on Fotki[/url or.................... grey primer.......................... Don't know what happened to this one......................... was suppose to be the top pic. [url=http://www.fotki.com]Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  16. Making a little progress. Added wood to the steps and cab guard and shortened the safety chains on the stinger. Still lots of little things plus add the truck flaps and paint the cab and hood again. Mike Hosted on Fotki
  17. Chris; No. It just looks short with out the cab and hood. They are a bit to short in the first place for me. May look a bit longer with the stinger I added. Mike
  18. Hosted on FotkiBeen building on this for a long time as it's really been a pain but the chassis is coming together..........finally. Hosted on Fotki A bit of a different angle................. Hosted on Fotki From the other side......................... Hosted on Fotki The stinger close up. Now I have to shorten my safety chains............................. Hosted on Fotki You may remember the interior................................. Hosted on Fotki And the cab and hood just before it's last "purple" bath. I'll get it right one of these days................ Hosted on Fotki
  19. A lot of history to this truck. Perhaps Bill will tell us. Mike
  20. Your attention to detail and paint is super. Mike
  21. Those trailers were used to transport new '55 Chevy's if that'll help you. Mike
  22. The "Doghouse" is the engine cover between the seats. Not sure on KW but the early Freightliner the cab didn't tilt and you needed access to the motor this way. Mike
  23. Great project. Keep us posted. Mike
