  1. The AMX's interior is done. It's not my best one, but it looks nice. I had some problems with the rattlecan paint I wanted to use, and had to strip the entire interior parts and start over. I used Testors CA wood paint thinned and sprayed with an airbrush. There's not much details in those old JoHan kits... but I really want an AMX! Also, while searching for suspension parts in the parts boxes, I found a nice pair of side pipes. Then I remembered seeing a lot of AMX's with side pipes back in the day... And while searching for reference pics on the net, I found out that "trendsetter" side pipes were optional on AMX's and also available as dealer installed. I'm not a fan of side pipes, but I think they look good on an AMX.
  2. Looks good! I love the color.
  3. Thanks for the link Looks like cheap Wal-Mart hubcaps... Here's a pic;
  4. I have just bought this kit, looks like a great kit! I took a quick look inside and noticed that the one I got has an extra set of wheels on the chrome tree that is not on the picture above. It's the pro street centerlines, but there's no pro street tires
  5. Some guys here are making this way too complicated. Just read the rules and build something that fits those rules, that's it. There are so many muscle car kits available out there that fits these rules I can't believe you guys can't find one and feel the need to enter something else. Even I was able to understand those simple rules... I really don't see the need to argue about what is and what is not a muscle car here. Now let's build.
  6. I was going to modify the seats too, until I saw that resin kit on ebay. There's another set listed right now; resin bucket seats and console George, I think those parts are from the same guy. I remember his name on the box was "Hart" or something like that and he's from Utah. The parts really look nice.
  7. I bought parts from this seller too. Like you said, received the parts fast and parts are awesome. He's got a 100% positive feedback with 275 sales right now.
  8. They were sold in that color. Code L5. Butterscotch is Dodge's name for that color, Plymouth's name is Bahama Yellow. Here's one;
  9. Nice work! That Super Bee will look great!
  10. You can add me to the list, I'll build the AMX. I was looking at the wheels/tires I got tonight, the Cragars I was thinking on using are too wide, so I might just use the wheels that comes with the kit, they are nice Hurst wheels. The kits tires are awful though, but I found other tires that fit. Redline tires would look great with these Hurst wheels. I also got a nice torque trust set with T/A's. I'm building this one as a nice street machine, mostly stock with a few add ons. So here's the kit I'm using; The engine is completed. The nameplates on the body says 390, but I discovered that the engine in the kit is a 327. I want a 390, so I looked in the parts box and took all the parts I need to build something that looks like a 390. I used the kits 327 block and transmission and oil pan, chevy heads and intake manifold, ford valve covers and mopar exhaust manifolds,engine front cover and oil filter. The air cleaner is from the kit, used BMF on the lid and brush painted the red and blue. I also wired it. Here's what it looks like;
  11. Nope. It's a stock rear section from a 1/25 AMT '70 Challenger kit. Exactly what I was thinking when I read your first post about this community build, especially when you mentioned the AMX I'm not sure on the color I will use on this one yet, I was thinking Pompeii yellow or butternut beige metallic, I like bittersweet orange metallic too. I got a Keith Marks decal sheet with the black go pack stripes. Also, I'm not sure on the wheels/tires combo I will use. I was thinking good old Cragars would look nice.
  12. I guess "WOLFIES SPEED AND DRAG SHOP" don't sell Shamwows... Nice work!
  13. Challengers! My favorites Here's some pics of one I built just like the 1:1 my cousin had; a plum crazy '70 Challenger R/T 340 Looks like the one in your pic, except for the vinyl roof
  14. Are you telling me this would be a great occasion to finish that '69 AMX I started a few years ago? Seriously, I might be interested in joining, depending on the due date... I got many muscle car kits waiting to be built. Including that Johan '69 AMX. The 390 engine is done, and I started work on the chassis. I used a '70 Challenger rear section and a '74 GTX front section, still need more work to make it fit the body. I did this because I didn't like the molded in exhaust/suspension/everything on the original Johan chassis.
  15. I got one! Got it on eBay. This one has the ramcharger hood and the bazooka exhaust tips I needed. I also got the correct resin Super Bee rear bumper and a resin bucket seats/console set. I also bought a Keith Marks '71 Super Bee decal sheet, which is very nice. I have now all I need to build a correct replica of my brothers '71 Super Bee. You are right mikelo the Hemi in that kit looks very nice + it comes with the automatic transmission. And you are also right about the wheels... I would add that the decal sheet in this kit is almost useless. Thanks everyone for the help! I'll show pics of the model once it's completed.

    '74 RRUNNER

    Another great Road Runner build! Very nice and clean!
  17. Very nice Road Runner!
  18. Ya I couldn't believe they named a car "La Crosse", many people (including myself) laughed when they heard this one
  19. LOL, I have two of those too. When a part falls on the floor, I gotta find it quick, before they do...
  20. Ha! Lots of laughs in this thread! You know it's a bad build night... when the GF's bird (cockatiel) is out of his cage, lands on the table, grabs the steering wheel, take off and fly everywhere around the house with your steering wheel in his beak. After a few minutes of running at the bird, he finally land on top of his cage, exhausted (both, the bird and myself...) and you find out he no longer has the steering wheel... Talk about a night searching for a 1/25 steering wheel around the house Now here's a pic of the monster; beware of those!
  21. Very nice build!
  22. Fantastic build! Now that you got the model, you need the real thing parked next to it
  23. Thanks, I didn't know about that street machine '71 Charger kit, but you are right, "if I can find it". Looks like a rare kit. Maybe I will just scratch build the hood. And I will order Keith Marks decals.
  24. Hey everyone! Does anyone know if someone out there makes a resin '71 Super Bee hood with the ramcharger option? I need one that fits AMT's '71 Charger kit.
  25. All I can say is... WOW!
