  1. Yup! That pic caught my eye too Anyone can cast a figurine like this? I'd get a few...
  2. That Dart looks nice already!
  3. I voted for the Impala. I just like how it looks, even if it's a GM
  4. But what engine is in the kit? The JoHan had the 327. Looks like Testors corrected the chassis a bit, the JoHan had the exhaust molded in. Too bad Testors left the rear end / leaf springs molded in...
  5. Nice an AMX! The body/bumpers looks exactly like the JoHan I build (see my AMX build here) mine had the AMX scripts on the bumpers where the license plates goes, just like yours. I heard there are a few differences between the Testors kit and the JoHan kit. The Testors kit is supposed to have the correct 390 engine, is it true? Does the chassis have everything molded in? (exhaust/diff/suspension) Also, on mine, the front seats were molded in the interior tub, same on yours?
  6. I see a black dot on the rear wheel I say real.
  7. Nice e-bodys guys!
  8. This one got an automatic transmission?
  9. See here; 68 barracuda conversion I have ordered parts from him, nice parts and fast shipping
  10. It looks so good with the white bumble stripe I do have one, but I have not started the kit yet and I'm not sure of the colors I will use on this one yet... so I'd rather keep it for now, sorry. But I would post in the "wanted" section, I'm sure someone here has one. Or Keith Marks might have one too. I would send him an email. I have used his decals on a few occasions and I really like them. His e-mail is; mofobow@hotmail.com
  11. Nice BMF job! Did I say I really like that color? The paint job looks perfect. Will you put the bumblebee stripe on it?

    1969 Amx

Thanx everyone. I found out the engine in the kit is a 327. I wanted a 390 so I went to the parts box to find parts that looks like 390 parts. I used the kits 327 block, transmission and air cleaner, chevy small block heads and intake manifold, ford valve covers, mopar exhaust manifolds and front cover and oil filter from a viper engine. I used BMF on the air cleaner lid and hand painted the red and blue. I drilled the block and installed the distributor in front and wired it. Interior is all from the kit, except I added seatbelts. The chassis has a Challenger rear section and a road runner front section and I modified the front inner fenders to look somewhat like AMX inner fenders (the kit had pickup style inner fenders) I used the kit's firewall and fabricated the exhaust from various parts I had. Jo-han kits are not known to be detailed kits, so some work and fabrication is needed to build a nice and detailed model. But Jo-Hans body's are awesome, and this AMX body is no exception.
  13. The AMX is done See more pics in the underglass section

    1969 Amx

Here is my entry in the community muscle car build. A 1969 AMX built using an old JoHan kit and many parts from the parts box. Paint is automotive water basecoat followed by urethane clearcoat in bittersweet orange metallic. Decals are from Keith Marks. It has a 390 engine and tan interior. Also added torque trust wheels and T/A tires.
  15. If the black is nice and glossy, then you can go ahead and spray alclad right over it.
  16. Yes you want the black to be as glossy as possible to get the best chrome effect with alclad. The parts can be cleared before applying alclad, I do it all the time. No.
  17. Let me know if they corrected the chassis of the older '74 gtx, which had a molded in single exhaust (and a 440 six pack engine...)
  18. Wow very nice paint on the Camaro great job!
  19. I use black automotive basecoat et then urethane clearcoat, let it dry and then spray alclad with very good results. I don't think the clearcoat the painter sprayed is the problem (what type of clear did he use?) If it looks like silver dots, I would say not enough air pressure or a bad alclad (too thick, maybe the cap wasn't closed correctly and the paint got too thick?) Alclad should be as liquid as water. Take a look at this tutorial maybe it will help;
  20. I really like the new site. It's better than the old one IMO. Things change, most of the time for the better. I can now mow my lawn with this instead of this Isn't it great!
  21. I've been using Firefox for years now and it has always been free. If they start asking money for it, people will most likely just move to Safari or Chrome or other free browsers. I have Firefox 3.5 and Internet Explorer 8 right now on my computer and both work just fine here. I often switch from one browser to another because some sites seem to work better with Firefox and some other sites work better with Internet Explorer. It's also a good thing to update your browsers for improved security. Just update Internet Explorer to version 8 and downlaod/install Firefox 3.5
  22. I really like that Road Runner, blue with white stripes and blue interior. Looks great!
  23. Really nice! Nicely detailed. Great work
