  1. I just love these little Fiat Topolinos! I built this one many years ago and I think it's a Revell (?) I started with only a body and went from there. Everything is either scratch built or from my Bone yard. The funny thing about it is that for years I would look at and would always think, "Something just isn't right with this picture" but could never put my finger on it! It was only a few months ago that I was finally able to see it! I had put the Spark plug wires in the wrong place!! DUH! You know, almost all of my models have a story and I guess that is this ones' story so I'm not going to change it!
  2. Old school 1939 Ford Gasser! Injected Olds engine!
  3. That's funny because I don't particularly like yellow either, but a person has to have a variety of colors in his collection don't you think?
  4. Where were you in 62? 1962 426 max wedge Plymouth Fury. I built this from an old Johan Kit I got from a friend. The old Johan kits engines were pretty cheezy so I put in the 426 from a Lindburg SS Dodge. I know the max wedges in 62 were 413's but I just had to put in the 426 Ramcharger engine! The car is painted metallic Rootbeer and the inter is tan. I scratch built the entire exhaust system from solder. Man, I miss the days when you could buy something like this right off the showroom floor for under 5k. (Probably between 3 and 4 grand).
  5. This was a fun build! I built the pickup many years ago and it is pretty much out of the box. I used the flathead from the kit (It had an optional Desoto Hemi) The car originally was a Promo. It was a pale yellow with a yellow and silver interior ! IT was UGLY! REALY UGLY! So I whips out me ol saw and cuts the hood out! The firewall is from a boneyard 63. I added the chassis from a 63 also. The engine is from Revell parts pack to relicate a 406 because they hadn't developed the 427 in 62. The decals (If I remember correctly?), are Slyxx.
  6. I Have! I'll get around to posting it.
  7. This is another "Drag Team Theme". An AMT 63 Ford F-100 pulling a trailer with a 63 Galaxie Light weight with a 427 Dual quad F.E. Revell parts pack engine and Trans. The body on the truck has never been painted. The car is painted white over Red interior with an aftermarket hood!
  8. Gene, at the risk of sounding like a know it all, Those "Other " headers are injector tubes. The bend is correct to clear the magneto. I have used them though as zoomies just by replacing the "bent" pipe with one of the others. (if you have extras).
  9. No, I didn't shorten the nose but I did reshape the sides of the hood and nose. I posted another A.M.T. Fiat that I didn't reshape. (See the Grim Reaper Fiat) to compare.
  10. Michael, I think the rear wheels came from the Tommy Ivo F.E. Dragster (not sure) The front tires came from my parts stash and I don't have a clue where they came from. Then I dyed them as well as all the "Chrome".
  11. I used to work for a major fishing lure mfg. and we used to "Chrome" (actually vacuum metalizing) the same process as doing the chrome parts for anything plastic. The "Dye" is a dye used to turn anything that has been chromed to Gold! You just dunk anything "Chrome" into a bucket of it, swish it around a bit (It takes just a matter of seconds), remove the parts, rinse them in water and lay them on a paper towel to dry.(That only takes a minute or so). When the parts are dry, you clear coat them and they're ready to go. I appropriated a small bottle of it when I retired. It's enough to last a lifetime (If I don't spill it) But even if I did, the good news is I can always get more!
  12. Thanks Carl. Coming from someone who does your caliber of model building, I really appreciate your compliments!
  13. All are painted Black and blue Pearl! The big Galaxie has a 427 Cammer and the old truck has it's original Y block with tri power and is pretty much out of the box! The Starliner! About the only thing used from the kit is the body, the Grillis and bumpers and the glass! Everything else is either scratch built or My Junkyard Parts and decal stash.
  14. This is an AMT Double Dragster kit Altered Fiat. The paint is one coat Testors and all the Chrome is dyed Gold and Clear coated. Everything is box stock except the Tires and Wheels and the little dude driving it!
  15. This is an old, OLD, AMT 32 Ford Model B Roadster that has been built about every way imaginable. I still have the original box,(somewhere) that it came in! I have built it Stock, Street rodded it several different ways, Drag car (Twice) (and painted it several different colors) It's been Black, White, Red, Purple, yellow and 3 shades of Green (Including this one) It has had several engines starting with the original Stock Flathead to small block Chevy to small block Ford to Nail head Buick! Of coarse a Hemi (Or Two) but one of the coolest engines I put in it was an Eagle Gurney small block Ford and that's when I built it as a Rat Rod! Now it Sports a Blown Boss 9 and is headed back to the Strip! The Color is Testors Mystic Emerald. Its wired and plumbed, full of fuel and ready to Roll! This time, There's even a driver!
  16. Here are the two that I need to Repost!
  17. Yeah, it broke my heart to sell it but I still have my Hot Rod Ford pickup and every time I look at it, I smile and that eases my pain. I named this one "Lil Henry"!
  18. Great Save! It turned out beautiful!
  19. This a model of my 1:1 Starliner that I named Hellenor. The color of the real car is Mercedes Signal red. The engine was a 390 punched to a 406 with 6-V induction. (Fords description of Tri Power) It also had the factory Hi performance cast "Shorty" Headers and a C-6 trans. Even has the same wheels. I cut the side panels of the interior off so I could detail and paint the door panels properly and it turned out beautiful. I named her HELLenor because of all the hell she put me thru! I sold her about three years ago to a young man from Hibbing Minnesota. He has since put in a 428 in her.
  20. My Favorite By Far! Very Sharp!
  21. Drop Dead Gorgeous!!

  23. Thanks for all the compliments Gentleman.
