Dave, it has a 3408 in it. i had to top half the motor to get it to fit, (the upper part of the casting is pretty thick) i realy just wanted you to be able to see the motor thru the fenderwells and from the under side. once the cabs on it covers things up nicely, and looks complete. Thanks for the compliments. Scott

Thanks, thats way i feel, i realy like the retro/modern look, i have a lot of ideas on more of the same concept, i love big petes, kw's freightshakers and the like but (no offence to anyone) their all to common, i wanna streach out a 50's kw, a 50's pete, a cannonball, a crackerbox, and what ever else i can dream up. watch for more.. Finnaly got a way to post all my pic's( i think.) go to link to check out build progress. more to come, not happy with paint, so i sanded reprimed, and waiting for better weather to paint. i'll have interior pic's today. also installed a 3408 cat, 13 spd, 3 spd aux. drive shafts, mocked up tanks and running boards, using pete tanks, waiting on full fenders and stacks yet.. quote name='Aaronw' date='20 February 2010 - 12:56 PM' timestamp='1266688585' post='269693'] I picked that cab up earlier this year, but haven't figured out exactly what to do with it yet (or more accurately decided on which one of the dozens of ideas I have to use it on). Looking forward to seeing what you do with this. I really like this style of GMC so I was very happy to see it show up at AITM, it is also one of the nicest cabs I've bought from him. Someone makes a DD 6-71 diesel which would go well with this truck, I don't recall where I got mine but I think Sourkrouts sells one. Of course if you are going to do it as a modrnized custom you may be looking for something more substantial to power it.

Tim, thats one of Daves (AITM)resin kits. got a lot of ideas on how to make it retro yet modern. (big pipes, long tanks, walk thru bunk ect) its a kw double bunk, sectioned and chopped, only 1 i liked that i felt matched the cab. black frame, fenders, champagne cab and bunk, ...60 series for power.(what u can c of it..lol) and a detailed interior...Scott

Scott S replied to bitner's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
VERY nice!!! as the owner of a restored 65 narrow nose i must say bravo on the detail!!! Scott -
Thanks for confirming that tim, i dont wanna lead anybody astray either, mine is the one with the truck faceing north on 75...very nice box art, actually came with 2 sets of the decals your referring to also...that ones a keeper for me. i also have the watkins version. Scott
-
The watkins came later, you are correct though, they are both t-507s. the first issue was called the fruehauf van..."bigwheels" super truck kit. was to be paired up w the brown t-500 pete. mine actualy has the little envolope for the sleeperbox offer, for a buck, you got the sleeper and visor for the t-500.. pretty cool..no dateing on box but i beleive its 68,69,70 era..

I have an original T- 507,(first issue) just went and checked it out, no sir no reefer. Scott

This is a Diamond reo/jerrdan rollback i built about 6 years ago, after moving, redoing new house, storage, she took a lil beating(as did my whole collection), gud reason to do a rebuild, its fully functional, w a tilting, slideing deck and a working drawbar. i have a ton more i want to postpics of once i figure out how to do multiple pics. i just after 3 years here have gotten around to building my workshop. Thanks for looking, Scott
