  1. LOL, well thanks, not everybodys cup of tea, just like building things that are a little different. Heres some WIP pic's of the trailer that goes with it.
  2. I have matching trailer pic's ill be adding soon also. Scott
  3. Added some pic's shes almost done, got some small details to finish, mount rear fenders, wipers, cab lites and some lil touches..
  4. Dave, it has a 3408 in it. i had to top half the motor to get it to fit, (the upper part of the casting is pretty thick) i realy just wanted you to be able to see the motor thru the fenderwells and from the under side. once the cabs on it covers things up nicely, and looks complete. Thanks for the compliments. Scott
  5. Thanks, thats way i feel, i realy like the retro/modern look, i have a lot of ideas on more of the same concept, i love big petes, kw's freightshakers and the like but (no offence to anyone) their all to common, i wanna streach out a 50's kw, a 50's pete, a cannonball, a crackerbox, and what ever else i can dream up. watch for more.. Scott
  6. Added a pile of new pic's to what i'm now calling project 53... check um out, hope you like. Thanks for looking, Scott http://s912.photobucket.com/albums/ac329/proram/GMC%20530%20build/
  7. Finnaly got a way to post all my pic's( i think.) go to link to check out build progress. more to come, not happy with paint, so i sanded reprimed, and waiting for better weather to paint. i'll have interior pic's today. also installed a 3408 cat, 13 spd, 3 spd aux. drive shafts, mocked up tanks and running boards, using pete tanks, waiting on full fenders and stacks yet.. Scott http://s912.photobucket.com/albums/ac329/proram/GMC%20530%20build/
  8. The 49 i had, had a 6-71 in it, we never got to finish it. shoulda kept it...heres the 53 w base coat on it and mocked on the frame, i think its gonne be pretty neat when its done. need fenders now and tanks. gonna color match the tanks also.. go to first post to see pic's Scott
  9. quote name='Aaronw' date='20 February 2010 - 12:56 PM' timestamp='1266688585' post='269693'] I picked that cab up earlier this year, but haven't figured out exactly what to do with it yet (or more accurately decided on which one of the dozens of ideas I have to use it on). Looking forward to seeing what you do with this. I really like this style of GMC so I was very happy to see it show up at AITM, it is also one of the nicest cabs I've bought from him. Someone makes a DD 6-71 diesel which would go well with this truck, I don't recall where I got mine but I think Sourkrouts sells one. Of course if you are going to do it as a modrnized custom you may be looking for something more substantial to power it.
  10. Mike, LP500s version. thanks for any help you can supply. Scott
  11. I have the OTAKI version. if its the same i also need a copy of the dirrections, if u want to send/ copy me a set ill be glad to pay you for your time. let me know. Thanks Scott
  12. Heres the story on the real thing.. http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/hdrp_0603_1962_vw_bus/index.html its from out around erie pa. thing is just dang cool.
  13. Tim, thats one of Daves (AITM)resin kits. got a lot of ideas on how to make it retro yet modern. (big pipes, long tanks, walk thru bunk ect) its a kw double bunk, sectioned and chopped, only 1 i liked that i felt matched the cab. black frame, fenders, champagne cab and bunk, ...60 series for power.(what u can c of it..lol) and a detailed interior...Scott
  14. How bout a stretched out 53 GMC 530 on a rg w 900 and a scratch built bunk, 2 chassis spliced just ahead of suspension, gonna smooth it all out, frame and all, should be neat i hope, i need help figuring out how to load more pic's i guess mine are to big..got lots to show..comments?...thanks Scott Got some color on er now, now to let is sit for the week and cure, then sand, clear and buff, and onto the chassis.
  15. Shes a beaut!! good luck. Scott
  16. VERY nice!!! as the owner of a restored 65 narrow nose i must say bravo on the detail!!! Scott
  17. Thanks for confirming that tim, i dont wanna lead anybody astray either, mine is the one with the truck faceing north on 75...very nice box art, actually came with 2 sets of the decals your referring to also...that ones a keeper for me. i also have the watkins version. Scott
  18. The watkins came later, you are correct though, they are both t-507s. the first issue was called the fruehauf van..."bigwheels" super truck kit. was to be paired up w the brown t-500 pete. mine actualy has the little envolope for the sleeperbox offer, for a buck, you got the sleeper and visor for the t-500.. pretty cool..no dateing on box but i beleive its 68,69,70 era..
  19. I have an original T- 507,(first issue) just went and checked it out, no sir no reefer. Scott
  20. For a quicker responce, send me ur e mail, i'll send u what i have till i can get this pic posting figured out..lol Proramsds@aol.com Scott
