Welcome and Very nice work, nice save,(i'll be saveing some myself here soon) nice paintwork also. Old rigs rule!! Scott -
Well after a near disaster i got back to a little work on the "C" ( i knocked the cab off a shelf and it broke into about 10 pc's, its an older MTFA casting and was very fragile.) lowered the cab on the frame and moved it back, dropped the head board height, and gotthe whole truck down a bit. now it sits much better. got plow frame mounted also little by little its getting there... NTC Cummins
Scott S replied to Semi Trailer Mechanic's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I may be wrong, but all the RVG 359's i have, (black magic, the can doo, the reg 359.) have the 475 twin turbo cummins in them.. if proven wrong i stand corrected then.. Scott -
Thanks Dennis, its 11 3/4" from fwb cab mts to rear of frame, slider will be operationable. prob. no chix lites, i like um clean and uncluttered, just the required lites. just personal prefferance. im gonna add the turbo and manifolds from chris to make it a 435 and i'm still not sure which dirrection im going with intake and exh. i tried to line up the stripes on the cab and trailer to give it kind of a flow. i think when doors, reefer and undercarrage are on its gonna be a nice trailer. Well while waiting for parts to work on the 4300 int and dump ive started yet another reefer combo. ive had this transtar eagle cabover and great dane reefer for ever. i feel the kit is one of the most beautiful kits of its time (just my opinion) the detail is just so nice. this one i streached 2" (got little work on frame streach yet so dont hammer me on that..lol)(what ever that is in scale) painting it dark garnet pearlcoat and champian metalic (both chrysler colors) im going to make it a 435 detriot by adding a turbo. daul stacks and intakes. the trailer will be champian with matching burgundy reefer, graghics and rear door frame, adding matching budd wheels on trail i robbed from the 4300 i just swapped the budds for the daytons.. heres a few progress pics Hope to have some trailer pic's here in next couple days. Thanks for looking, Scott

The Royale is hard enough to find decent info on,the royale II is almost impossible. The last Dia reo, raider, giant stuff was produced just a short ways from here (hbg) till the late 90's theres some dealers who might have some info this way. rife in chambersburg might have some. check if you already havent hanks, and truck net.com theres a post on Dia reo info in there. and you can try the ATHS. i have Dia reo's and "T"s but all my stuff is conventional stuff.. Hope i helped a lil bit, Scott

Scott S replied to Scott S's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks tim, you put this truck along w my Dia Reo rollback on your old site about 10 or so years ago..lol Plastic cowboy rules!!! -
Heres another project i'm working on. i built it about 10 years ago and dissasembled and repowered and made some changes. it now has a 475 cummins, will have full 2 way wetline setup, the trailer was a quad axle now to be a tandem w/ a steerable lift axle. legnthened the the frame, added a functioning air gate chute, and a tarp rack.

Only ones you could get were for agri use..ie this being a logging truck. it is a fully documented 1944 out of montana and said to be the oldest known pete in the east.(thats come forth) being most were logging trucks of sort any left appear to be out west. i passed up another 44 that someone @ the old pocono pete was staring to restore and for some reason stopped, ran across it on ebay a couple years age only prob. was most of the good stuff was missing..
