very well put. you learn to listen to the constructive criticism, and the rest of the bull goes in one ear and out the other. and no amount of bad criticism will keep me from posting, or they win.

another one of these threads.... that's ok, I enjoy the nit picking about the nit picking... anyways, lets put it in these terms, I coach, or have coached baseball, football, basketball and bowling for many years. if I coached them on everything they did RIGHT, they would never get any better. think about it. it's not the criticism, it's how it's delivered or taken. and you can deliver or take written text many ways.

hey Brian, at least on this thread, NEVER hesitate to post something about your pet. we all look at them as family and it is a big, big loss. my guy will be 3 this year and if he is not laying upstairs in our bed in MY spot, he is beside me or somewhere in the room. it's going to be hell when he is gone and I will not deal with it to well.

Don Carlton Pro Stock Colt rework
tubbs replied to Plasticfanatic's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
hey Fred, more pictures please. I am a colt fanatic!! loved that rod shop car. they were very squirrelly rides, I know that. most racers dumped them after not even a year. back when I got out of school in the late 70's, I had bought a colt to do a pro street car with, due to things, it never got built. I would be in for a few if they ever got casted. -
my sincere condolences Brian. as to all who have lost pets. it's tough. I know she had a very happy life with you.

AWWWHHH Casey, you party pooper. didn't realize that trailers changed. so I would have to get a "new" trailer and put all the racing stuff in it? this is a dumb statement, but people can actually tell older trailers from new ones? well, what about old school rigs, what is the chance of getting an older one? like the Mack in the movie "duel". are they available? would that match my trailer better? maybe some old school rod and custom rig with up to date running gear. like a resto-rod semi. oh, this is getting deep. really fishing for help now.

thanks for the explanation Clayton, that was great. I am constantly looking at what you did and saving the pictures. who know when this build will take place. it will happen sooner or later. meanwhile, I will keep watching.

Mike, that would be great. I remember you bringing in one. you are the one who really got this whole thing going. what would be great is if you have one of each (the snap and the full blown kit) so I can see what I am dealing with. had no clue these kits were in the $70 to $80 range, it just may have to be a snap kit. thanks for the offer, now I have to remember to show up.

don't see too many silver ones. decals look great against it. another nice pro street build. see, who says pro street is dead? nice job.

nice. like the color on this one. i'm gonna have to get a lathe, that's all there is too it!!

great build Jeff. thought you may have dropped the chassis over the frame, then I noticed you filled in the rear wheel openings for the "stock" looking fenders. I did that also on one of mine, gives it a whole new cool look. like the headers coming out of the fenders... will have to remember that!

hey all, well the title says it all, I have never built a semi in my 45+ years of building models. I think I am ready to jump in, problem is like everything else, I would like to jump in the deep end first. i have had a Kraco race car hauler for longer than i can remember and i want to build something to pull it. I have been watching Clayton's build of his Moebius Prostar and that looks killer. a few guys in my model club build semis and they say to start with a snap kit, but they say there is more cons than pros with it. would the prostar be a good kit to start with? obviously i would not be modifying any of the motor stuff, but everything else is fair game. so a few questions for you all... - does stretching the frame do anything besides make the truck look way cooler? - i would love to lower it as well, is it easier to channel the body over the frame or drop the suspension? - dropping the suspension means a lower hitch (receiver) point, what would i do about that? - do you drop the trailer also or does it stay at the same height? - are there any advantages to "super singles" over the traditional 2 tires per rim? - the fenders for the rear tires, are they a resin piece or do you guys scratch them up? right now, i am just testing the water, these semis can get mighty expensive and i really like that Prostar that Clayton is putting together. what is the cost of one of these? can anyone suggest another cool looking semi? i thought about an old school one, but the rig will be pulling a pro mod car (either a 99 ford lightning or a willys) and i thought going more modern would work better. this will be a total custom job, so the hacking of stuff is OK. i want it to look cool more than functional. well, i guess this is enough for a while. sorry for the long post and any help would be greatly appreciated. i will be watching the traded section, except i have no semis to trade so that maybe kind of tough, we'll see what develops. thanks in advance, Tubbs

excellent Jeff and welcome to the forum. I see you dabble in milling your own aluminum. very cool. did you do those rims also? big pro street fan I am and would love to see some more shots of this.

rocky mountain way - joe walsh I remember standing outside the record store the day this album came out. I went to the same school as Joe Walsh, well, he got kicked out before I got there. this song is in my all time top 5!!

this was #3689 He said Mow the lawn - Who, me? Walk the dog - Not my style, man! Take out the trash - No way! Tidy your room - C'mon get real! Sorry dad, gotta disappear, Let's get the _ _ _ _ outta here. (it's not a bad work, it's in the title) it was a hair band that appealed more the ladies than the guys, if you went to their concerts it was 70/30 women to men.... it was GREAT!!

darn. I know Iggy pop, now the Stooges, never put them together.. I have the "lust for life" album too. he did a lot with david bowie which is cool. never considered Bowie a true "punk" artist. well, kudos on the stumper.
-
sorry, that leaves me out. don't mind punk at all, just didn't give it a listen. I know a few of them, but not good enough to get the lyrics.... sorry.
