About Me
As of this writing, I have been a member of this board for 5 1/2 years if my math is solid. Probably time to tell my life story, huh?
I was born a small child at a very young age. Until I was 5 years old, I thought my name was "Heesyorson!!"
I got my first job at the age of 15 in a little 2 man tire shop called Golden State Tire Distributors in South El Monte, CA. That's where I met my first wife, darn it. In 1970, my Draft number was "2". I thought this might be an excellent opportunity to seek a career in the Air Force. That provided me the the mental fortitude, moral attitude and 4 herniated discs that have been with me to this day.
I started building at age 11 when opportunity came a knockin'. I was with a friend and his mom at a store. He asked her if he could get a model. His mom also offered to get me one. An unknown vintage Lindberg Austin Healy.
Color me Hooked.
The Long & Winding Road has cost me 5 major collections of built / unbuilt models. My current collection is growing, as is my skill level and determination to be of some help to others as a way of honoring those who taught me.
