I finally did some work on the tri drive....Uh yeah its not a tri drive n e more.Got some KFS 2 holes in the mail and did some front suspension work to try and correct that front wheel spacing. The hood was kind of a pain, I had to modify the 377 hinges to work, and the hood and cab dont line up very well.Maybe when its all together.Got a few more things in the mail, shes gonna be slingin chains so, hopfully itll look good. -
Will I used Testors brand Nassau blue No.28128, its a base coat that you spray a clear coat over.Came out nice I supose.Id like to experiment more with it.

Ryan your skills dont seem to be lacking to me.You should continue the other build. Are all of these builds 24th or 25th?Nice job on the blue one leave it and add more detail. -
Ken no Im not gonna bother with that its supposed to be a simple build.I did this one to take a break from other models and to get another one on the shelf.Jamie, no its cool yer on here, nice build. This is my 2nd truck but first attempt at this one.My first complete on the shelf was my Pete 378 24th scale.

priming / sanding
Pete1980 replied to cowboysevens's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Well I usually let em soak over night u need to see how the paint reacts, it may come off in minutes it may not.Ive noticed model paint comes off much quicker.Good luck. -
priming / sanding
Pete1980 replied to cowboysevens's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Donnie is correct you need to use Duplicolor primer.Use the build up for body work and the sealer for finishing. Now your issue may be from the release agent they use in the factory on the model.Unless you washed it.In that case it could be different types of paint mabye not mixing.I know the humidity cant be it cause Im in Florida and primer works just fine for me.to make it quicker dip yer model in brake fluid to remove all the primer and wash the model with soap and water. This works very well.I recently saved a couple of models by doing this. The brake fluid will not hurt the plastic.Good Luck! -

Yeah agreed nice build!! -
Got a bit done today, not as much as I wanted but I had to break out the RC truck n play for a bit and played a little COD4, and cleaned the 55gal salt water tank, and help the guy across the street work on his car....Nice relaxing day. So I washed the grill a bit I didnt wanna go to heavy, got a little BMF on and got some brakets added to the sides of the cab.

Yeah thnx Highway.I get kinda picky yaknow.Color is important. It must be just right.Im movin on with it now so we will see how it turns out.
-
Thnx guys!Well going slowly but this week the chassis should be done and will start the interior soon.Im just going basic on this one so go easy, lol.I guess theres not much to judge yet anyway but...Itll get a little BMF here n there and couldve added a bit more white down low on the hood but I like it.kinda 70s ish, I think.
