  1. I can't stand Kurt's little brother either Highway. I used despise Kurt as well be he has mellowed with age and I kind of like him now.

Smoke is my favorite driver though. If Danica ever comes over to NASCAR full time I will be a big fan of that beauty!!!!

Get ready to be a big fan, Mitch!! Danica is going to race in the Nationwide Series full time next year to get her ready for the Cup series. She's done good in the few races she's been in so far this year, and could have done better if she could have stayed out of everyone elses wrecks! My favorite is and always will be this driver:

This is just a very small portion of my Dale Earnhardt collection, all the way from models to diecasts and pictures. Smoke is also one of my favorite current drivers. I even have an autographed diecast of his 2009 Burger King car from Daytona last summer I bought of the big home shopping network. I do agree with you that Kurt has mellowed with age, but he's still a Busch! :o

  2. tamiya has reissued the 1/25 t-34. it costs about 60 bucks. i found this one at a show opened but complete for 45 bucks. great price considering it has all the engine and interior detail included.

I never even knew anyone made 1:24(25) scale tanks! The one on your truck looks great, blowns10. Does anyone know if they also offer an M1A1 Abrahms in 1:24(25) scale?

  3. Yes I am Daniel Gailloux from Plaskit. I do not have a web site to sell my resin parts at this time I have been using only my email address to sell my resin part on the web. I did open an Ebay store almost 2 months ago and starting slowly getting to know all the Ebay screens. I will be opening a web site later this year. For the time being I did upload pictures to a photobucket account that alows my customer to see my resin parts. Here is the link to my photobucket account:

    My link

Look for files that start with Plaskit for photos of my resin parts and I also uploaded scans of my catalogue in JPEG format.

I also uploaded pictures of real trucks, truck manufacturer brochures, and my models trucks and pictures of shows I attended.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

I can also be contacted at this email address: plaskit_resin@yahoo.ca

    Best regards Daniel Gailloux

Thank you, Daniel. I will check the pics out!

  4. I am a resin caster of model truck parts. Some fellow modellers did ask Claude if he would let me replicate it in resin. I know there is some intrest with this conversion kit.

However he did not wish to do it to preserve his unique build. That is correct too. Enjoy his unique build.

    Best regards Daniel Gailloux

I heard of Plaskit and seen some of his parts in builds, but can never find anything online. How can I see some of the parts Daniel offers? I know where to find Porky's items, but not Daniel's. I would like to see some of his products as well!

  5. I need the right valve cover (Part # 508) for AMT's Tyrone Malone's "Papa's Truck" Kenworth Aerodyne Cabover hauler. The vavle cover from later issues of the Kenworth Aerodyne Cabover should also work, even though I don't know if the part number is the same. These are the kits with the Detroit Diesel V8 and Allison Automatic transmission. Thanks in advance. I also have this posted in the "Wanted" section.

  6. What shade of red would you guys call this? I think its like a lipstick red.. (interior)

    post-3187-1270823483263_thumb.jpg

That would probably be close. I think I used Tamiya Flat red on this interior:

    HPIM1593.jpg

It looks close to your picture, even though you would need to use a satin or semi gloss clear over it. Or, it also looks close to the shade of red on my 1:1 scale truck:

    HPIM1527.jpg

It is 1995? Ford Truck Cardinal Red, but again, you would need a satin or semi gloss clear. If you need the paint code on my truck for that red, let me know, I have a can of the DulpiColor touch up paint I can give you the code from.

  7. That's what I'm here for Matt. I may not know semi trucks well (you guys have been a big help to me so far), but I do know paint and graphics..........ok, maybe not so well either; but I do have a boatload of opinions I am willing to share!! :)

Thanks, Brad, it's always good to have opinions to share! I have to agree, there are many talented truck builders here, many are very helpful, and I would hope to say I know a little when it comes to semis, I drove them for 12 years! I also worked for a towing company for a couple of those years, so I've been in, on, under, and worked on trucks in that time. I even worked on the wreckers and was under them a time or two! I haven't printed another test of the mural yet, but between your opinion and others from here and the "other" model site, and also my "artsy" mother in law, I've decided to extend the mural slightly and take it from about the end of the curve where the front wall meets the side to just before the doors in the back. I haven't decided yet, but may even add a different small mural to the hood as well. I'm not sure, though, because there is a small ridge in the hood, and sort of scared if I can get the decal to conform to it well or not.

  8. Final vote: 23 REAL, 49 MODEL.

I thought I'd get you with this one, but you guys win... it's a model! 1/18 diecast.

    Next ROM coming MONDAY!

You tried to make it hard on me, Harry, but my beginner's luck held strong!! 3 For 3!! :) The tie down hook in the rear almost made me say "Real", but the give aways that led me to say "Model" was the apparent mounting stud in the front marker light, the highly visible seem on the door rear view mirror, and those tires just screamed "I'm not real!!". The lack of tire valve stems, or at least not visible to me, helped, too!!

  9. Ok, my mistake! The body seems to go on fine with a little bumps along the way which will go away as soon as I get everything trimmed and sanded. I say you should go for it. If you buy the resin body, you now have two bodies that sit on the same frame so you can do whatever you want to the other.

Cool, I just might have to get one of the resin ones. Then I could use the other body as an ambulance! Stab them then slab them!!!

  10. Nick, are you looking for the wheels for wreckers from your other thread? If so, newer style wheels from the Ford F350 would be your best bet. My 1/1 scale 1990 Ford F350 was a wrecker at one point in it's life, and that is what is on it.

I seen some somewhere, but can't find them right now! I think Ma's Resin is supposed to make some, but not on his site yet. If you want older fifty or sixty style wheels, check these out at Scale Equipment Ltd.

Of course, if you want a "showy" style Alcoa wheel, 1/32 scale Alcoas from a big rig look real nice as a 1/24(25) scale dually wheel.

  11. Its the 59 m&m by jimmy flintstone. http://www.jimmyflintstonestudios.com/onlinestore/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=208

I was told it sits on the polar lights kit. To my surprise, I just found out today that it says amt kit. Guess I gotta make it work..

I think the Polar Lights is similar to the AMT kit, I don't know for sure, I never had the AMT. It looked like the other one you had was the Polar Lights, one way to find out, see if that fits it! I was going to convert one of the P.L. kits to a hearse, but I like that resin body much better!

  12. Highway, you are right…. My mistake. The e-mail was sent to me by “phoneguy†member, who runs modeltrucking right now. Sorry for that…

I already made contact with a friend that will check his spare parts box for a refeer unit…. Let’s see…

    Thanks again.

Hey, no problem! I just didn't want you to get mad at me for not replying!

  13. dryvr12,

That's a really nice resin body hearse, who makes it??? Thanks. BTW, it would look real sharp painted in a glossy

    grey.

I really think gloss black would be better, but do agree with octane on the body! Please tell us where you found it. Does it use the Polar Lights Ecto1 frame and interior as donors?

  14. Highway, thanks a lot. I received your e-mail and ASAP I will reply with the files.

I just bought this trailer. I guess it will be perfect to make the truck. I only have to make the refeer unit from styrene sheet.

What you guys think about it? Did I get it right?

    2008-08-04-1216-40.jpg

I think you got the trailer just right. AMT also had that trailer with the reefer, but like you said, the reefer is not that hard to scratchbuild. As for getting my e-mail, I'm sorry, but I don't remember sending you an e-mail, are you sure it was not someone else?
