  1. You and half of Australia! You know, it probably couldn't hurt to start a letter writing/e-mail campaign to Revell USA to see if we can get these 1/16 kits reissued (can't immagine how much they'll cost). Seemed to work for the 1/25 Kenworth W900 Aerodyne Snap-Tite kit.

Nice idea Jim! I know a young man named stewart is doing that very thing for pickup kits, LET'S DO THE SAME!!!

  2. "Other" forum??? :P

Yes, Harry, there might be "another" forum, but this one is MUCH nicer!! That "other" forum does have it's own section for Community Builds, and that wouldn't be a bad idea here. ;) It would make the Community Builds easier to find! Just a thought. Please don't think less of me if I just might be a member of the "other" forum, too! :D

    BTW: The SC T-Bird has a V-6

    Yup, same 3.8 V6 as the pre-91 Cougar XR-7. However the post-91 XR-7 used the 5.0 V8 (well...4.9 technically)."

Thanks to both of you, I knew the SC T-Bird has the supercharged V6, I got the SC kit to build my 1:1 :D , but the 1:1 doesn't have the supercharger or the SC bumpers!! ;)

  4. Great pics! The close up of the front and rear bumpers and the pic of the engine just made me realize something! The engine in the Cougar is the non turbo version of the 3.8 Liter V6, right? With a little modification to the bumpers and the non turbo engine, I can make a model of the 1:1 1990 T-Bird I have in my driveway from the 1990 T-Bird Super Coupe kit Revell made!

  5. you need to add a nice 4-wheeler in the back of the CR-V & then add an off road Segway to the four-wheeler. That way, you can get progressively deeper into the wilderness.

only thing i see as an issue could be height. with a load floor between 5-6 feet, anything payload taller than 6-7 feet is asked for trouble. You don't wanna end up like this guy:

He just wanted a convertible! A friend of mine that I used to work with did something similar to his trailer, didn't cause damage like that, but lost the entire fiberglass roof panel from his trailer. After he got back to the warehouse we drove for, I didn't believe he hit a bridge, I couldn't see any damage to the trailer at all. That is, until he opened the back doors and all I seen were the roof support ribs and sky! He became the inspiration for my next build:

By the way, please DO NOT be offended by the name on the trailer, it was not meant that way! My friend is very secure with his Polish hertitage and originally only did it as an office joke while all us drivers were drinking our morning coffee, but he loved it so much he took it home! Good thing I took pics before I took it to work!

  6. Highway, thanks for the tips and photos.

The J-bot decals I already knew, but not the Modeltruckin. I tried to send an e-mail to both. J-Bot has its inbox totally fully. No new orders available.

Modeltruckin, the e-mail have returned... So I can´t make contact with no one…

You're welcome, Drago, and try this thread for info on Modeltruckin.com:

You could probably PM phoneguy to find out why your emails are coming back to you.

  7. Right now the front axle is under the leaf springs.

may swap to over the springs.

NO DON'T DO THAT!! I have this 1:1 Ford F350 Dually 4X4 and the axle is under the springs.

Not a great pic, but this is the front axle and spring:

It's definitely not close to what you're building  , but in it's former life it was a wrecker! The previous owner owned a towing company and after it's life of towing, he removed the wrecker body and put the stock dually bed on it. The only telltale signs that it didn't come from Ford this way is the "Incomplete vehicle manufactured by Ford" sticker inside the door and the 6 inch gap between the cab and bed!

  8. Calculon - It had the steering wheel from Hitler's staff car, the left turn signal from Charles Manson's VW bus, and the windshield wipers from that car in Knight Rider.

    Fry - Kitt wasn't evil.

Calculon - No, but his windshiled wipers were, it didn't come up much in the show though.

Project Satan - Thank's to Ed Begley Jr, I have an electric motor, the most evil motor ever developed, whahahahahahaha.

HUH!! Aaron, I think you posted in the WRONG THREAD!!! And, yes KITT was not evil, KARR was!

  9. I seem to remember when the Movin On kits were on the shelf. I think the box art showed an aux trans so that means more than one shifter. I don't recall the truck on TV having that set up.

Yep, you're right! I'm not sure on the real truck (too young, I wasn't even born when the show was on the air), but I know the kit had the aux trans, just like all the other AMT KW W900 kits. Even the T600 kits of the early 90s had the aux trans in it, and two stickers were WAY gone by that time! The only AMT KW W900 kit I have ever seen without the aux trans (it's still there but not used) is the old Alaskan Hauler issue. The kit includes ALL of the parts needed to build the W900 like the "Movin On" issue, but includes, according to the instructions, a 16 speed Spicer trans that does not use the aux trans or the second stick shift.

  10. I think this is a roll of the dice as to whether these kits tires will be warped. The tires on the Revell 359 above, I had no problems with. they went together beautifully.

It's definitely is a roll of the dice with those tires, and with my Pete 359, my roll came up "craps"! :) Mine were so badly warped I don't even think CA would have helped them, I stole a set of wheels and tires out of Italeri's 377 A/E. It dresses the 359 up nicely with the nice Pete emblem cutouts in the wheels, too!
