  1. Great, and my friend did such a nice job painting that engine in the Johan, too! At least it isn't as bad as the Ferrari I got from his collection that I have to figure out what he painted the body so wonderfully and didn't paint the side mirrors!!
  2. You know, I for one am getting a little sick of the "woe is me I can't afford it" stuff all the time!! Do you think you are the only one on this forum going through hard times right now?? I have been, as I've seen you post in the past, unemployed for over 2 years and as of the first part of June, I lost my unemployment benefits COMPLETELY!! The only income in my household right now is what my fiancee gets paid from her part time job, and that is just about enough to keep the rent paid and the lights on. I'd be willing to bet too that we are not the only 2 members of the forum having these problems either, but I don't see anyone else but you that brings it up on nearly a daily basis, and frankly I, for one, am getting a little sick of it. Times are tough everywhere, and finding a new job is tough everywhere too, but geez, STOP WHINING ABOUT IT!!!! Oh, and by the way, even though we just had our home phone shut off because we couldn't afford it, we still have BROADBAND CABLE INTERNET!!!
  3. Personally, I would not go with white for the floor carpeting, either. I don't care for and don't build many models with white interiors myself, but if it's a case where I have to, I usually only paint the seats and interior panels white, things like the dash and carpeting are done in another color to go with the car I'm building. You might want to do a picture search for the specific car you're building and see if you come across a good pic of a white interior of the car.
  4. OK, now I'm cornfused, which doesn't take much!! What is the engine in the Johan 70 442? http://cgi.ebay.com/JO-HAN-OLDSMOBILE-1970-C-5070-1-25-SCALE-/250863932738?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a68a7d542 This is one of the kits I got from my friends collection, and he had already painted the engine in a goldish tone, no doubt to replicate the bronze engine color, but from the info on the web site the only engine matching that is the gold painted SB 350. Was he correct and the kit has a SB, or do I have to repaint it? I'd like to finish the build the way he had already started it, but I'd like for it to be correct too. By the way, what is the engine in the AMT 69 Hurst? I have one of those too unstarted, but there were a couple in my friend's collection he had started and had the engines of those in the goldish/bronze color too. Were those correct?
  5. That is a quite useful site Mark, thanks!
  6. I don't know if this is correct, but I just recently got a couple Olds from that era that were started from a friends collection that had passed away, and he had them painted in a gold color. I'd like to know if that is correct or not too!
  7. One other glitch I have noticed is, at least for me, when I click the "Go to first unread post" button at the top of the thread after coming back to a thread I'm watching, it will take me to the LAST post, not my last read post. For example, when I came online to read this one, instead of starting with the first post from George right after the post I made last night, the "Go to first unread post" button put me at the post Mike made at 2:43 PM EDT today. That wasn't my first unread post! By the way, I find that eye VERY DISTRACTING AND CREEPY!!
  8. I MISS MY COMFY!!!

  9. Ok, hopefully this will help you both be found!! If you look under the LAST POST on the page right ABOVE the box that I'm typing in now for relpying to this topic, you will (or at least should) see "Back to General" (since this thread is in the general section) and "Next Unread Topic" under the lower right hand corner of the last post's box and above the upper right corner of the reply box. I hit the "Next Unread Topic" button and it brought me back to this topic, just like Rodney and Chuck said it would. Also, I've noticed that some of the threads I've replied to will send me my email notifications that a reply has been made to the topic, but when I click on "Content I Follow", I'm not getting notifications there.
  10. I can't help you on the first part of your question, but as for saving pics, I just right clicked on a pic in the thread and the only thing to pop up was the box to give you the option to select "Save Picture As...", and the only other window to appear was the one to save the picture to my hard drive. Unless you are using something other than IE8, saving a pic is the same as it has always been for me.
  11. Also add to that list in that general time period, if I remember correctly: Great Dane extendable flatbed Freuhauf tanker GMC General Freightliner SD (I think that was in that round??) Wilson livestock trailer I'm not sure, but I think there may have been a few more, but of the five I mentioned, I have all of them but the Freightliner SD, and they were all from the early 2000s. I remember seeing the SD on the bay in the newer box.
  12. I'm not a big COE fan either Jim, but I'd take all of them! I'd love to see the Dane again too. I'm afraid that would be another of the KWs that we'll never see again, Dave. That kit was the same as the Movin' On and Watkins W925s, just with a few added goodies for the cold weather abuse.
  13. They're showing up on mine, too. Nice work so far Davin.
  14. Here are a few I found @ Walmart.com, and the first one is like the ones I've seen with the chrome surround. http://www.walmart.com/ip/GE-3-LED-Utility-Touch-Light-White/16561411 http://www.walmart.com/ip/GE-6-LED-Utility-Remote-Controlled-Light-White/16561412 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Rite-Lite-12-LED-Under-Cabinet-Light/7942766
  15. The easiest way I could think of is with lights!! OK, now that I got the joke out of my system, I've seen a few different style LED light strips at Walmart that just might work for what you need. The one I was looking at a chrome finish around the outside and comes with 5 LEDs. I didn't really pay attention to the price of them, but they also eliminate another problem too, they are battery powered, so you wouldn't have anything to plug in. The only downfall of that would be the length of time you'd have them on, if they are on only now and then, they should work fine for you. If you'd have them on for long periods of time, you'll be buying stock in Energizer!
  16. I don't think that would be good, there are some good threads that get dug up now and then.
  17. I agree with Bob, go with the Italeri kit, then all you will need to find from the aftermarket is Mack emblems. The Italeri kit does not include the Mack scripts for the hood or the bulldog.
  18. Johan has been gone for quite a while now. I think it was maybe 2000 or so when they became just a memory.
  19. No thanks, I've heard enough about IE9 to keep IE8, I like my computer to work reliably!
  20. How come I was so lucky not to have my avatar disappear!?!?
  21. I actually agree with you on that Gregg, it is sort of irritating going to a watched thread and just seeing this: If I may make a suggestion, it would also be nice to see less quoting of posts with tons of pics just to see "Nice Job" at the end of the quote. I can see if you are asking about a certain pic, quote JUST that pic, but for some updates with 5 or 6 pics and then someone quoting that update and just saying "nice job" or "good work". Sometimes those who don't understand the basic English language (and I mean the people who live in the states!) and you need a translator just to understand what they say get pretty annoying to, but that's a small issue!
  22. Oh, it won't work with IE8, eh?!?! That's funny, I just got it to work with IE8. Yes, maybe a little differently than before, but I guess you just have to be smarter than the computer!
  23. Also Antonio, if they don't have to be Buick specific, you can find that wheel in almost any late 60s or 70s musclecar. Even the already mentioned 70 Buick GSX does not have the Buick center cap, the center cap detail is a decal in later issues, and a few other kits off the top of my head I remember having those wheels are the 70 Chevelle and 70 Boss 302 and 429 Mustangs from Revell/Monogram. They are so common I probably have hundreds of them in my parts box!
